Thread: Scouting Droids are amazing!!!

Hey...just want everyone to know that scouting droids really are a great thing to have. I used one for the first time last night. I was hunting avian meat on lok...killing perleks. we all know how annoying it is that you can't scout while engaged in combat...but thats why you send your little droid out to scout the fallen perleks while you still fight. so while you are blazin them down...you can also be sending him around scouting the stuff up.
My droid has scouting +104 so he collects more resources than i can get with my scout tree of 4040. i could scout 29-30 units off of a perlek ravager....but the little droid could get 36-37. It adds up after 3 hours of hunting them.
*tips for using*
have a macro set in an F-key...to direct your droid

this one works well....i have "harv" but that one is up to you to decide
do not group with your droid....he will run off more often and be scared or something...when i was not grouped with him....he was alot more brave and would not run away as much...lol
The method of killing perleks and sending your droid at the same time....also increased speed of getting through the static lairs....because you did not have to run down a corpse. i collected 5.7k of avian meat last night...which is pretty decent for playing for 2 1/2 hours.

Droids are going to be the downfall of Scouts and Rangers. As a master Ranger I should be the end all of all creature knowledge and harvesting. I should be able to pull more hides/bones/meat/milk than a trashcan droid.
Not saying that droids don't have their place, but they need to be balanced for people of the Master caliber. Droids are great for those that "dabble" in scouting or ranger, but not those that play to master and keep their beloved Master Scout/Ranger tags.

oh of course....im not saying that rangers and scouts should be replaced....no no....i am a scout...i scout for a living...im just saying .... i can get alittle more meat per kill.... as a ranger... im sure you can get more meat than my droid..... im just saying droids really help cut the time to scouting... you can be killing while you send your droid to collect meat.... that is their biggest advantage.

Scouting droids are supposed to be based on your skill. So if I get 60 the droid gets 65; if I get 80 the droid gets 88 etc.

yeah they are...andnon-scouts can not even use them...so why are they the downfall to scouting and rangers.....they are just alittle addition that every scout should own to help us in our work. They make scouting go faster and help us collect more.
for those who can afford them....they pay for themselves....i paid 60k for mine...and he will pay for himself very quickly.

Oh ok, I was not aware that non-scouts could not use the droids.

What are the statistics on the droids? How much do they help a novice scout, a scout with 0-0-4-0? I am going for Master Ranger and using one of these droids should net me a ton, and from I heard in past posts its only like 15% more where scouts and those can get 20% or more organic than normal, I think there should be a bonus that droids get at master scout, like 0-0-4-0 will get you 15% more, but master scout will get you 20% more, and Master Ranger will get you 25% or maybe a little higher for the master classes.... Someone should do some statistics for these little things since any novice scout can use one...

My understanding (and I'm just a mere 4/0/4/2 scout right now) is that the droid bonus applies to any scout/ranger that uses it, and will boost your harvest beyond the yield you'd get alone unagumented. Veghash, btw, stacks with the droid's bonus. So, any scout or ranger will get higher yields with a harvesting droid and veghash, and there is no hard coded upper limit to the total harvest, only the limits that droids and veghash have naturally.

Ok. Droids are not the end of the profession. Harvestdroids are stacked on my lvl and the Veghash also stacks on it.
Never group with your harvester. If your a Clsoe in combat Prof. droids prob are not that great for you. (time Wise)
R-3 droid stacked all harvesters are the best for harvesting amount. Probes seem to negotiate better. lower harvest though. i use boath depends on terrain.

I've been trying to find a "straight" answer on the issue of % with harvesting droids for some time. Currently a Droid can be equiped with 6 "Creature Harvesting Modules." Each module seems to reach a rating of around 19. This gives the the final build something around 114 for Harvesting. I currently own a Probot with a rating of 36. (I wanted some high combat bonuses and some storage space) It harvests about the same amount of resources as I do on most creatures.
% bonus aside... the Harvesting droid speeds up harvesting immensely. Once you've got a rythim down its simple to kill an animal, send the droid, then switch to a new target with little extra effort. It makes moving through a lair of Perelek's or Langlatches (you know any lair that spawns around 20 creatures) very fast and easy. Using a Droid and having Master Ranger/Rifleman I made 1k units of perelek avian / lair.
