I am at Uni at the moment, otherwise i would have just tried, but is it possible to make a camp close enough to the water to be able to fish from it?

That's a good question. If no one else has that info, I'll be setting up another camp in about 15 minutes or so after I finish my next destroy mission. It's near a river so I can check that out for you.

That would be much appreciated, would be great for an RP experience, and a good way to pass the time while I get Survival XP.

I believe that the distance you can be from a river is just outside the furthest reaches of the perimeter of a camp - making it impossible to fish from one. I recall reading this here a while back. You may want to do a search on it to confirm. I've not tried this myself, so I'm not 100% sure.

hmm, well if i set up a camp and walk a short distance away to fish, I wont get experience from the camp, right?
People need to be in the camp, for you to gain experience?

Right. If you leave the camp, it's going to autodisband after a certain amount of time.

Yup, our trusty Scout Correspondent (maybe we ought to call Delta our Scout Leader?)is correct. The camp is just out of reach from water.

That's pretty much it, you can setup camp verynear the water but will need to run back to camp in intervals to keep it up and gain more XP. Did this for awhile this week, not too hard, and caught many great fish (newest was a blow fish).

hehe, was just fishing in that pond inside moenia (Theed), the pond by the shuttleport. Caught a Laa, blowfish and blackfish The plentiful supplies of bait surrounding the pond kept me going until I finally felt like leaving.
