Thread: New scout Trapping Question?
I have a quick question about trapping XP.. I have found as I run around the city that each creature I hit with traps brings me diffrent levels of XP. I have found that the higher the level the more XP I believe?
That being said, Cant I just find a Kimogila and hit him with some traps .... sure I will die but I will gain trapping XP alot quicker hitting a higher level creature than a wort? correct or is my theroy flawed?

Osire,
Nope, your theory is fine.
The main problem though is that you aren't going to survive long enough to get much more than two or three traps off. Then you've gotta run back and find the things again. The downtown is long - so you've got to make sure that you're getting the best XP to time spent getting it ratio.
I suggest finding a lower level, high level mob, like Fambaas or Snorbals, having a group or friend tank and lobbing trap after trap after trap. You'll make Trap Master in no time.

Thanks for the answer, ![]()
Also my Kimo reference was only to show the extreme high side as the wort was the extreme low. ![]()
Thanks again for your reply ... keep up the good work.

Someone also suggested, sorry can't remember the name, to find a non-killer mob and do just that. I believe the exact suggestion was to get a destroymission, so you know exactly where the mob is, then just lob traps until it incaps you. Wait until you get back, rinse, and repeat.
Perhaps another option is to find a slow mob, I believe Banthas have been mentioned as a slow mob, and just kite it with traps. Use the cheapest trap you can if you are just grinding. No point in wasting resources if you are not planning on killing the thing straight away.
I don't even have trapping 3 yet do to my constant forgetfullness of the skill, but I've been to talus and Endor and I can tell you that your theory is sound.
With my GSP bestfriend hunting companion I'm able to take on pretty mutch anything yellow to me and when I do remember to throw traps ::L:: i will get usualy 360-500 exp per trap. I've seen several ocasions where if the animal is big enough I've gotten 1K-2K exp per trap, torturns come to mind. pretty mutch anything that is red to you and verey big = large amonts of exp.
Can anyone tell me what is the longest diatance in which a trp can be used?

All traps are pretty mutch ranged at 16-20 meters but at that range usualy miss 30-50% of the time
I have a lot of strong pets (going ch/ranger) so that would be a nice way to hold of targets while i trap.
My question is i have lvl 3 traps now. But can i hit high level creatures with lowlevel traps ? Or are they insanely hard to hit couse the traps are low level ?
Right now im doing all the n00b mobs out of keren i can. I have 6 traps i trow (dont wanna use the expensive ones) on each mob. Everyone gives 40 xp so that is around 200 xp pr mob. And there is ZERO downtime.
Cor,
We aren't 100% sure.
All we know is that you'll get more experimentation points for use on traps and camps, but the verdict is still out on whether or not this actually does anything.

Then how doi improve the qulity of my traps? All seem to be at 0% quality and this does not improve. Also will the artisan skill help me get beter xp for my traps. The thing is someone told me yesterday tha artisan would improve the qulity of my traps and therefore i would get better xp.
What are the benefits of getting artisan skill for my trapping if any.?
