Hi, I've got a new toon on Starsider who as you can see by my sig is currently on his way to Novice Rifleman (planning on hitting Master). As you might guess from the skills he has, I am going MR, MS, and part of Ranger. Having hit rifles 4 on the marksman tree I now qualify for a Jawa rifle. Since I don't expect to do much pvp right now and am mostly involved in pve killing creatures and harvesting for $$$ I'm wondering if I should bother buying a Jawa at this time or save my money for a T21 when I hit novice rifles. I've been making decent money so far for a newbie toon but I'm not sure what an "entry level" T21 costs on Starsider. Of course I know that not much of anything has stun resist so mabye I should go with a Jawa anyway? Oh, if I get a T21 I will be getting it sliced (unless it's already sliced) and so I'm also wondering on that should I be hoping for a speed slice and then use damage pup's on it or the other way around?

If you are NOT planning on going into PvE, I would strongly recommend the T21 over the Jawa.
The T21s not only have at least 150 more damage typically, but theirArmor Piercing is the maximum. Not so with the Jawa.
Don't know about Starsider, but on Eclipse decent stock T21s go for anywhere between 25-50K depending on stats.
Keep in mind that the base Speed on a T21 is around 7.4, so you will most likely want to start with aspeed-sliced one, and maybe add some speed power-ups to it. Farther up the Rifleman speed branch, you may want to switch back to a Damage-sliced T21.
I might suggest you stick with a goodLaser Rifle for a while. They have AP2 instead of AP3 of a T21, but you can get them with higher damage much cheaper. Anyways... welcome to Rifleman and remember that the difference between 4444 and Master is substantial.

I would also stick to a Laser Rifle for the time being until you pick up more speed for a T21 because at novice the time between specials is horrible. Also a Jawa will have no effect on a lair because stun does not dmg lairs (or bikes incase you pvp with 1). Just my thoughts

I'm a little confused by that first part, I thought Jawa's were more for PVP, so you think I should actually pick up a Jawa over a T21 since I WILL be mostly doing PVE not PVP? Thanks for the good advice on staying with the laser rifle as well, I had always heard that even after the marksman rifles boxes a lot of riflemen kept these around. I managed to get a pretty good one (I think). It's a "sniper" edition built with a scope and stock, has +60 at 60m for ideal range. I want to say it is just over 400 damage but I think it's the upper 300's. It also has a mid-20's speed slice which took it from 6.1 to 4.7 attack speed.

E11 rifles are also very nice they have ap2 and have much tighter damage ranges than lasers, also they only require 1 krayt tissue if you go that rout. until you hit at least 0/0/0/4 its speed speed and MORE speed!

Sorry, Flyinion.. my bad. I worded that REALLY poorly. I strongly recommend the T21 over the Jawa for PvE.
Perhaps if I had just used those words the first time I could have saved us both some typing! ![]()

laser rifle til novice rifleman. when u get novice get a t-21 that is damaged sliced. use point blank area attack to compensate for the speed with a speed pup and you will have a higher output at a still fast attack rate.

lol point blank area? Nah I like staying back if I'm using rifles, with pba I might as well have gone melee again lol. Anyway, I think I'll probably end up staying with the laser rifle for a bit, but might buy a T21 just to see how it compares. At least I'm making some good money off the current Starsider Naboo Avian meat to finance this.

hmmm, ok well maybe I'll try it out then, but it better take 'em down quick, usually I've been hunting kaadu's and nunas unbuffed with only a ubese jacket and getting 3 kaadu's aggro'd on you at once at my level kinda hurts when they're right there and your range bonus is now shot. Luckily I havea pretty tough probot harvest/trap droid that can tank a bit for me when stuff like that happens. Quicker for me to hit it with a repair kit than to clone and come back out to a mission.
