Thread: Here's the deal...

Ok so basically my character SUCKS. I cannot decide what to do with him... I have been a Swordsman, Doctor, Pistoleer, Smuggler, Armorsmith.. And now i am a Commando...


Basically i am trying to decide what to do, and Rifleman looks really cool, because of the massive guns and stuff (one of the things i like about Commando)..


So what is good about Rifleman? And also what are they good when combined with.. Like i guess i will have to give up commando.

The cookie cutter template seems to be MBH/Rifles with some of either pistols or combat medic thrown in.


That said I dont want to be a cookie but a real man, so I went for carbines with pistol root thrown in and enjoy it


alot, depends what you want really.

So you are a Master Rifleman/Master Carbineer and a bit of pistol?


I've never even thought about being a MBH, i don't really wanna be something that one in three people are..


Ok so say i was gonna go Master rifle/master carbine. Which one should i do first? or does it not really matter?

You should do both at the same time......go out in a group and max both your experiance with rifles and carbines go for training then go back out again ^^ you get master in no time. And the reason most peeps go for a bit of pistol is for rootshot. which is awsome. think u only need 4boxs in pistols for that.

Ok that sounds good.. And i always thought Carbines were cool. But what will i do for healing?

If your in a group you can alwayz get healed by the medics, BUT if your solo u dont need to be a medic to use stims.....for Stim-D then you need combat lvl60 no medic at all

Ok well i'll give that a try. Thanks alot for the advice.


Oh and what armor will i use? Because Rifleman uses recon right? And Carbineer uses i think Assault.. So will i use assault, or recon?

Depends on your preference. Do you want to be protected better from ranged or melee attacks? I have the MR/MBH/Pistoleer template so I use Recon layered to 8080 energy. That takes care of most NPC's with guns, and Jedi...

Oh so does recon protect from ranged and recon protect from melee? Well since i'll be using rifles and will probably be far away from the carnage, i guess recon would be a better choice then..

There is 3 types of basic armour Assualt / Recon / Battle. Battle Armour has a ok average against all diff types of dmg......recon is good against Energy and Battle is good against kinetic. So depends wot ur hunting to what u wanna wear. I only thought Commando/BH ect could use assualt. Didnt think carbineers could use it.

Yes recon has better ranged protection and assault is better against melee.

I just check and you are right, carbineers cannot use assault. They use battle. My mistake.

it doesnt work like that bud......even when ur out in a group and useing a rifle there is a good chance of getting the agro and being hit by bols ect.....this is called kinetic damage and Assualt armour is best.
