Yes I am a noob rifleman.

I am just trying to get a feel for what a good base dps is. The one that I have know is

Advanced Laser Rifle

Speed 2.5

Mod 1.6

Dam 530-1095

Accuracy Bonus 17

Wound 14.95%

Estimated DPS 325.2

Modified 507.55

Seems from what others have posted my mod is a little low but the base seems pretty good, but what the hell do I know. lol

Thats a great rifle. Your modified DPS is low because you dont have a high speed skill.
Estimated DPS takes into account just the stats on the rifle, modified DPS also uses your skills. So you will see the mod DPS increase as you advance the profession.

Hmm im not sure thats low, given on Chilastra about 90% of the weapons for sale all come out at around 250 modified DPS and have no accuracy bonuses lots of junk for sale it seems)

I have a T21 that comes at around 450 modified DPS, speed 1.54 and acuracy mod of 1. Only paid 75k for it (lots of T21s selling for 100-200 k that have slightly higher max damage buthave slow speeds, so not really worth it. (speed > max damage, especially when its not a very big increase in max damage)

Id say you have a really decent weapon, especially because of the accuracy mod. You arent going to miss as much so that will boost your DPS up even higher.(and as you gain more ranged accuracy skills/mods)

Cool. Thanks for the info guys. Should have stated that I am Master Rifleman Master CM and I dabbled in BH for accuracy and speed. The rifle was a million and was trying to see if it was worth it and how it compared to other rifles.

Lol - I didnt even look at the modified DPS you stated, just at the "noob rifleman", that you found your mod DPS is low and that you have the usual base dmg / speed.
500+ mod DPS is great, my Adv. Laser has 477 (Master rifles / Marksman 4004 / FS ranged speed).

id say that rifle was worth a mill. my 350ish base unsliced laser rifle was 3.5 mill but i think it was worth every credit.

If you really want to boost your DPS then add a Speed Powerup to this thing. I make a +23% Attack Speed powerup with a -3 hit to Accuracy. With your accuracy mod on the rifle your still going to have a +14 while getting a 23% speed boost. Your modified DPS should shoot up to around 640.

Now the issue with Rifleman is.......does DPS really matter if I have to wait for my action pool to regen. I take foods, spices, etc.. and I can still drain my action pool with my faster laser rifles (under 1.5 modified speed). So, how about a damage powerup?

I have made some special damage powerups for my rifleman to use.+29% Damage Mod with a -9% to Speed. Not as good at adding to your DPS as a speed pup but for me it takes my advanced laser rifle to +1284 max damage and I hit for a good 300 pts more damage. It slows me down just enough that I don't normally have to wait for my action bar to regen. This powerup on your rifle would get you a +1410 on max damage.

You can bump your DPS pretty massive with a speed pup but in battle you might find the damage pups more useful. DPS is only theoretical damage per seconds...nobody can sustain constant special firing in combat so consider this when evaluating DPS. It's still a good measure for comparison but not practical in combat in my opinion.

Great post. Thats the exact reason why I look at the max damage & SAC instead of the DPS why I by rifles. (Not sure if this applies for carbines or pistol)

My guess would be: Not a lot better sliced than unsliced, probably pretty close to the cap.

Reinforced stock PUPs ftw. use a rifle speed stim (can be found ALL OVER on the vendor search for only like 3k or less a pop) and an adrenal boost from a doc and your set for speed. Got the sac on my laser down to 72, so I can spam for a while before I run out of action =)
