Thread: Rifle Macroing, Need advice and locations
Currently, I have a macro setup and running outside Kor Vella in Corellia, macro killing Mobs that yield 117exp per kill---reason---low chance of dying, one shot kills. Well, I left the macro going all night..yielded 42k experience for..well, doing nothing really. I have it set to disarm Rifle and go unarmed for 15 seconds (I am Master TKA just in case they get close). I want an area that I can kill higher mobs easier, getting at least 500-600 exp per kill. Where is a good place I can go to start my macro that has a steady spawn stream of MOB's that yield 500+ experience points?? Someone has to know of a place..somewhere.. by my calculations, this will allow me to yield over 250k+ exp per 12 hours...so would really speed up my progress.
Thanks,
JK

Any other riflemen find this insulting to the profession? I know things are tough Physion, but you might actually have some fun going out and killing things yourself.
Find a group(yes, I know you'll get less XP compared to the others, but it still helps) or have some patience. I don't think you should just macro all the way up to Master or whatever you intend on- it takes the fun and challenge out of everything.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this way?
that is theepitome of laziness...!
congratulations on your ingenuity and good luck
Okay, I'll tell you why---
I HATE Rifleman---when I received my holocrons, I cringed at the fact I would have to wield a Ranged Weapon. I have been Master CH, dropped for the past couple months enjoying my Master of Teras Kasi Artist and Master Doctor professions. Rifle use doesn't excite me in the least. I am used to being a loner with my unarmed skills, and that suits me. Another reason, my friend---
I don't ALWAYS macro. When I actually have TIME to log IN after a hard days or weeks work, I have a couple friends that I go hunting with---but not to GRIND, but to do something with content--such as hunt Krayt's or raid bases. It has nothing to do with leveling, but I do get some EXP from it. What I am concerned with, my friend...is being PRODUCTIVE when I'm not physically in front of the computer. I don't need to be judged by you, I posted because I need help with a valid form of exp leveling. Be careful who you judge, my friend.
Uh-hem....At any rate, I still need a good spawn location, experienced Rifleman. Any help you have would be greatly appreciated. In opinions you have would be best kept to yourself....everyone has an opinion, anyway...but does anyone really listen? Facts help the most, and provide the most productivity to each class.

Itbothers me too, but not really verymuch. Personally, I wouldn't do it.
I made master the hard way (no pets) and I feel a lot of pride about that.
But it depends on what your goals are in the game. Sounds like his goal is just to get to Master any way possible. I don't know if you ever had to get surveying experience, but MAN that was boring! I macro'ed that so I wouldn't go crazy. So I can't fault him too much.
If you hate riflemen, then quit. Sure you want to be a Jedi, but is that any reason to compromise your hate for riflemen? The point of the game is to have fun. If you are not capable, then don't play. Or go back to CH where it isn't so challenging. No one is judging you here- watch you tongue.
We only point out the fact that it IS very lazy to be macroing so you can (hopefully) unlock that FSCS. It is supposed to be VERY difficult to become a Jedi.- that includes the road to the FSCS. If you can't handle the challenge, then give up. The Dev's stated long ago that this would not be something eveyone would be willing to take on.
I mean no insult to you or anyone else. I'm sure the same can be said about the other true riflemen.
Anyway, good luck.

Well, thanks for your insight.. I really have learned my lesson. Actually, you know what! I just want to be Rifleman now! Forget my other profession! Being a Jedi?? What a joke! How could I have been so stupid and lazy..thanks so much for enlightening me, you proud..proud Rifle-woman.
Sarcasm very much intended.

Is the new holocron system grand, now we get to have our profession polluted by people that dont want to be the profession and instead just want to master it as quick and cheaplyas possible. I wouldnt care if they didnt come to the boards and actually post about it.

I cannot abide AFK macro-ing. But I'm originally from AC1, whichI thought was a much better game than UO or EQ (tried them all). AFK-macroing was not appreciated there.
Weak. Soft. Lazy. But it has to be blamed on SOE, who continually promoted an 'exciting, skill-based system that did not involve grinding'. Freaking liars, the skills improvements art so far apart they consist of sudden jumps far apart (grinds), not a gradual improvement percentage-wise.
Where is the interest in character development? There are a lot of quests that can be done with minimal skills... I did lots with no pet, no armour and just my novice Rifleperson skill (eg, Imperial Retreat missions).
Make a new character if you only care about being a jedi. Anyways, that is just sad.... If you don't want to be a rifleman, you wont be a jedi. Life sucks and then you die.
Yes, you guys should be in a world to your own. Even if I would have thought about becoming a Rifleman, I'm glad I decided against it if I were to be thrown into the elitist likes as you. All I wanted was some help. Every other profession and their boards provide just that. Everyone here seems to be whiney, jealous, and unhelpful people. I'm glad I don't have to stay here and listen to you people...geesh, if I had to look at the Rifelman board everyday I don't know what I would do.
I made no opinions on your class, I made no opinions an anything---I only requested on tiny bit of information for help..nothing else...and has anyone helped me? At ALL? any offers? Absolutely not. With regards, I will just find out on my own, thank you. By the way, I just checked my character after repositioning with higer mobs. Looks like I'll get about 2 blocks a day doing nothing, plus an extra if I actually have time to hunt....which puts my mastery by Monday, Wednesday at the latest...
Cheers,
JK
Oh, and by the way.
Keep pushing me and I'll post the Macro code and locations for all the newbies so they can level and master faster than any of you can. Then, while you take your weeks and months of grinding to reach Mastery, they will get there in triple time for nothing...laughing at you along the way.
Physion you stated that you are blatantly using a macro that allows you to cheat (that's right an exploit) your way to master. Then you come in here and insult people engaged in this profession when they do not want to help you cheat your way to master. This whole holocron system is blatantly unfair and has shown me just how ill-behaved people can become. If cheaters/ exploiters and powergamers end up being admitted into the ranks of the jedi at the expense of role-players then I think I might go and hunt them down myself.
