What are they gona do? Reduce the max dmg by 5 points or something...

Sheesh. Do any of you have any proof that the discussion comparing the T21 and FWG5 lead directly to the change to FWG5's on Test? I personally believe it was just a coincidence. Unless there is a deveoper response stating that it resulted directly from such, I do not think it was related at all. It just so happened that you found yourself a scapegoat. Of course if there is a post confirming they are related, then I eat humble pie by the fistful!
We'll have to wait and see how things turn out. They removed the handler, but apparently have fixed experimentation against the feed. This, combined with the fixed advanced projectile pistol barrel should somewhat help mitigate the loss. I think it was changed due to the ability to krayt and high velocity feed enhance it which turned it into a killer gun. What is sad is the base weapon was pretty neat, it is a shame they had to tweak it like this. Of course, with the removal of the handler it makes the stranger damage type even more noticeable - heat damage from a purely projectile component based weapon.
Either which way I am hoping it is a prelude to a proper reworking of the DX2 pistol. Or perish the thought, more higher end weapons, some variety at all, really - truly elite weapons that require master rifleman/pistoleer/carbineer to get the cert for.
By the way this is from a weaponsmithing point of view,
Go to the pistoleer boards, before you came over and claimed responsibilty for nerfing a marksman weapon all we talked about was 1) when will the %40 of our specials that do nothing be fixed, and 2) when will our class specific weapon be fixed? There has always been some rumblings about how the BH is a better pistol user than the pistoleer, but always to the tune of "make us work" not "screw them up".
We have had our share of nerfs, true we haven't had our class weapon nerfed, but thats because almost every marksman class weapon is as fast and hits as hard, and the AP on it has never worked. As we have caught the nerf a few times we are slow and hesitant to want anything made less than it is, and anyone who posts something along those lines is told to shut up and think about it.
Three classes have mods that stack on ours, we have been asking to make each class independant so that mods do not stack for some time so that the BH/Pistoleer dabblers, or Smuggler/Pistoleer dabblers wont be so strong. Heck a BH with 2 boxes in pistol is a better pistol user than a master scout/master marksman/master pistoleer, this make sense to anyone? Understand that the guy with the pistol who kicks major a$$ is prolly only a pistoleer for about 2 boxes and has the rest in smuggler dirty fighting and/or bh pistol.
The general concensus with us is that we don't want to be the best, just the best with a pistol. Other classes only come into the discussion when they want to take something away from us.
I can feel for you guys, I have a rifle user as an alt and it is not easy, you don't hit often enough in my opinion, but when you do hit BANG, you hit hard. You also have a nice selection of damage types (including cold, sumthin not given to pistols), heavy armor piercing and the ability to hit the unhealable pool. Pretty good plusses in my book.
I hope your new correspondant has some luck getting you the things you want, and I hope you try and see things from the other side once in a while.
Please try and stifle any nerf talk, or talk that could be interpreted as nerf talk on your boards. The devs have said that it is easier to nerf than boost so when asking for changes keep that in mind. Don't glory in our sorrow, what is bad for one class is bad for the game and you never know who will be next on the nerf list.
I posted this on the pistoleer forums today. Can a Rifleman please answer this?
Couple of points:
1 - DX2 is far less effective as an elite weapon for Pistoleer thanthe current T21 is torifleman.
2 - FWG5 is (was) the only viable option for Smugglers who dont have their own weapon certs.
3 - FWG5 does heat damage that is greatly resisted on most objects within SWG.
4 - FWG5 is AR0. T21 is AR3.
Now, taking all that into account, I wonder how they could really feel that threatened by this gun.
I know there are a lot of good, honorable Riflemen out there so this doesnt apply to you.
