Thread: Klawegna Attention, Rifle Exploit?
Basically, instead of permissions being given to there person/group that does the most total damage to a mob i.e. causing 350k damage to a Krayt, the permissions seem to be going to the person/group who does the most damage from 1 attack.
Whilst I cannot guarantee that this is in fact the case, it would definately explain a number of cases that I have personally experienced where permissions have been given to the wrong person/group.
If this is the case, a commando using a heavy particle beam cannon or rocket launcher should be able to secure permissions for your group.
This isn't a rifleman issue, it should really be brought up on the Core Systems forum for discussion.
Both the heavy particle beam cannon and the rocket launcher are hevy armor piercing and should allow a commado to deal a lot more damage than any (non uber loot) T21

I'm pretty sure that there's a bug around that's most apparent with the high end content.

again, then please explain how the dragon has 10,000 or less ham remaining out of 500,000 and the rifleman did more damage.
Was there a Squad Leader in your Group?
Was the Rifleman 64m away on the other side of the Krayt outside your Radar Range and hitting the Krayt from the get go?
How do you know the Rifleman got looting rights? did you ask him and did he say yes?
If the Krayt had 10,000 HAM left and the Rifleman stepped in at the end of the fight and got loot rights it has to be a bug unless they have suddenly changed the loot permissions code from - Greatest Overall damage dealtgiving loot rights to Highest Damage Shot giving looting rights... Or even God Forbid Killing blow gets looting rights.

Just saw this thread linked to. On Kauri the same thing happened. There was a solo Rifleman that I sort of knew and I was talking to him while we were both at the Graveyard. A group of about 20 people killed a Krayt there and I said why are you out here soloing, no way you could outdamage a group and he said "Don't worry I have magic =)." Or something to that effect. He didn't get the loot permission for the dragon, but it seems like he knew some trick to get it. He was also a CM.
That's not good.. I simply couldn't do that with a clear concience, though you cant put the blame entirely on him.. its the way the loot rights have been coded and they should be changed. The fact that now you at least get a display on what it is members of your group looted is a big step in the right direction.
i would take issue...
two people are not soloing....
any two other combat classes can do the same thing. the normal canyon krayts are not difficult if your a well oiled killing machine and you have your tactics and cooporation down.
for example i can kill an enraged rancor solo no buffs with a CDEF rifle and no armour. i have seen the same enraged rancor kill entire hunting parties of 10+ individuals....
just because one side sucks or has bad tactics and strategy doesnt mean the ones taht are winning are cheating.
as for the looting there is a looting bug that grants rights to whomever lands the DB. that is not a rifle issue it applies if a raw noob dancer came up and got the DB using a punch with a fist.
