Aren't rifleman by far too overpowered in the current pvp system?

I got hit on my server by a Rifleman for 1232 damage in pvp. Counting the 75% loss in damage in pvp it means that rifleman got a hit for 4924 damage on one shot.

So how is this possible? How can you make 5000 damage attacks?

It struck my mind like a huge hammer leaving me dead in a second!

I haven't PVP'd yet, but my understanding is that combat does 75% of the damage, not reduces it by 75%. There should be only a 25% reduction in damage. The guy that shot you probably hit for 2k.

Why is it considered over powered?

I assume they hit you with a HS3 using a T21 - which is basically the best weapon there is.

What do people want? To be hit by something that does about 3 health points of damage?

I dont mean to flame, not at all my nature, but i just had a total argument about why rifleman are so overpowered, and try to explain to him that with all the various negatives that go with being a rifleman it all equals out in my opinion.

He might of hit you with a big one, but his next one could of done 100 dam, we are rifleman, and we should be able to one shot kill. Hell if i had my way the sniper shot would be that, you use that one shot and not only does it incap the target it also DB's them!!

the T21 is capable of big hits, but I've never seen a 4000+ damage hit with mine. It usually does closer to 2000, or 500 in PvP with a slow reload time and high mind HAM cost.

That's a really big hit and I assume that the guy who shot you got lucky with a big hit. The next one wouldn't be as big. That's not the type of damage that can be consistantly inflicted.

The only time I have hit for 1200 in pvp is using strafeshot2 and my t21 rifle. I have to get lucky to hit that hard though I can hit as low as 200 with that same attack in pvp. The mind cost per attack is 150 so I can only fire it a few times before I have 0 mind pool left. We rifleman don't get the luxury of low ham cost and beeing able to use medic skills to buff/heal the ham like a pistoleer can.

I usually hit for 500 in PvP with my T21... yesterday though some BH TEFed me an hit me for 765 using stopping shot... I don't recall doing PvP damage that high... so who's overpowered now?

If you were wearing crappy armor, that will happen. The T21 is AR3, and Strafe Shot 2 gives a large multiplier.

Were as if you were not wearing armor, wear AR is broken, it would not have hit you for that much. It would have acted as AR0, yes everyonce in a while the T21 will be one shotting people. (Unless your buffed) I dont think you can get a Head Shot that high, its multiplies isnt large enough, Im betting you hard armor on with low energy resists.

Until they fix AR, I suggest you dont wear armor.

Think alot of non rifleman are forgetting the Low high damage of rifles, yes without armor you can get hit in pvp by a t21 for up to like 1500 or more, but that's a)because your not wearing armor and b) because that's about the max the shots gonna do, I"ve been stopping shotted for400-500 average damage, my average damage in pvp (using a laser rifle yet to gett21 not sure there are on my server)is about300-400 I think most the classes have there benifits and disadvantages, instead of trying to say "Nerf this class" think more positive statements about your own class would help more, like your broken skills, instead of someone else's "uberness" Just saying being constructive is better than whining : ) Again just my humble opinion = )

Thats actually false, wearing nothing in pvp you get hit by a T21 (with the 75% reduce thing), wearing armour it ignores the armour and does extra damage, wearing a shield generator too and you could be hit very hard by a T21, after testing with friends we decided that armour is a double edged sword at the mo, good against some but not so against an AP3 weapon.

You also have to understand that there for a day or so, newly madeT21's were completely unnerfed and the Max dmg on them was somewhere in the 800's I think, now its somewhere in the low 500's. This wasallowing them to be able to hit for non-pvp for 7k+. His weapon will decay over time but with the new T21's 1200 cannot happen in pvp anymore.

I dont know about being overpowered I have yet to kill a BH with knockdown. As a matter of fact I've yet to get off a shot. I get knockeddown and take big damage at the same time. The highest hit with my laser in pvp was 534 on a imp with 500 mind so it was a one shot kill. Of coarse what do you expect running around with 500 mind jezz thats a wet dream for me... I dont know, its hard for me since I fire so much slower at the moment being at the bottom of the riflemen tree. I hate knockdown and i hate eyeshot so i guess i hate BH, but I guess thats cause one lives next door and has many times jumped out spamed knockdown and DB'd me so imentitled to be pissed at them or him ......

It usually does 2000 out of PvP? I dont know what rifle you are using but I hit for 2500 dmg with my laser rifle and headshot2 =)
