Therefore it is OUR responcibility as riflemen to provide Aldeon with the info he needs to determine what the riflemen, in general, support.
I have looked over the boards and compiled some of the more famous (or infamous) rifleman suggestions from others, as well as my own suggestions. I have numbered the suggestions.


In your post, please put the numbers of the suggestions that you strongly agree should be added. Then, below, add in any additional ideas you have.


Please carefully consider each issue in terms of how it balances with the other ranged proffesions, how it balances in PvP and PvE, and how it helps/hurts the idea of the rifleman and the role a rifleman should play.


1. Change the way accuracy is handled with rifles so that at ranges of 40-63 meters a rifleman is almost guaranteed to hit his target unless he is moving. This would change the current system, where a laser rifle only reaches positiveaccuracybetween58-62 meters, even with master sniping accuracy. This may also include making the pistol and carbine accuracy ranges more defined as well (read as: no 2-3 pistol shots a second hitting at 63meters with pin point accuracy).


2. Make the "rifle aiming" (not rifle accuracy) skill increases bigger. Since accuracy is directly proportional to damage, this would allow rifleman the ability to pull off higher damaging shots at the cost of time.


3. Rifles should have an overall increase in damage.


4. Rifles, being that they are rifles, should have armor peircing values greater than their same-tier counterparts on the pistol and carbine branches. This would mainly affect the DLT20a (current AR = 0) which is used by many low, medium, and even upper level rifleman.


5. Conceal shot should be changed to a pre-attack similar to the aim command.Queing conceal shot followed by another attack (like headshot) will result in that attack being "concealed" and making the NPC unable to detect the rifleman.The conceal shot ability is currently an attack that is used from under cover. It has a chance of damaging ANY of the HAM pools without the monster knowing where the shot came from.


6. The "concealment +20" modifiers we gain each tier in the concealment tactics branch should have a clearer and more defined role. As concealment skill increses, rifleman should not only succeed more at concealing but opponents (both NPC and PC) should get stiff aiming penaltieswhile firing at a concealed target.


7. The +20 melee defence we gain while working towards master rifleman should be changed to something else, like ranged defence. Since we suffer x3damage in melee combat, the +20 melee defence hardly matters and since, as rifleman, we are most commonlyat a distanceunder threat of ranged attacks: the ranged defence would be much more useful and appropriate.


8. Give the "sniper shot" ability, which allows deathblows at range, a dramatic accuracy increase. Currently riflemen have been known to miss 2 or even 3 times in a row on their attempts to DB an incapacitated target at range.


9a. Make it so that the "knockdown" abilities are given situational modifiers. Attempting a knockdown attack against a running target would have a high chance of succeding. A standing target would have a better chance of resisting the knockdown. A kneeling target would be VERY hard to knockdown. A prone target would be IMPOSSIBLE to knock down.


9b. Make it so that the "knockdown" abilties cannot be spammed. This can be doneviaimposing a timer on the knockdown attack (restricting how often it can be used) or by granting a player knockdown invulnverability for a few moments after recovering from a previous knockdown.


10.Cange the master rifleman attack, strafe shot 2, to headshot 4 or mindshot 3 (or both HS4 and MS3).

I do not agree with: 3 or 11.

1) Qualified Agreement. I think OUR accuracy is fine. I just think that Pistol accuracy is horribly unbalanced and in desperate need of a CONSTRUCTIVE adjustment.


2) Agree fully!


3) Disagree. I think our damage is fine and once again it is pistols whose damage is ridiculously unbalanced.


4) Qualified Agreement. I dont think AR values need tobe changed. I just want them to WORK properly. Currrently, the whole AR system is bugged in PvP.

7) Qualified Agreement. I'm not sure about this one. Inever melee with a rifle. I use a 2H sword so the rifle melee defense abilities actually help me. But I would still trade thme in for something else - like more ranged defernse.


8) Not sure. I've NEVER EVER missed a sniper shot.


9) a. Agree fully. I'm sick of getting knocked down while already prone.


9) b. not as important as 9a


10) I would REALLY love an AOE headshot.

1. Agree if kept within reason. Pistols should have a similar *decrease* to max range accuracy.
2. I never use aim, so I have little opinion. However, it seems like any change to aim capabilities should apply to aiming for all 3 ranged classes.
3. I am pretty happy with rifle damage as is.
4. Agree.
5. Disagree. I just got conceal shot today, and I think it works great and is well balanced the way it is. As a ranger as well as rifleman, I wouldn't mind /conceal making a comeback (like maskscent for humanoids).
6. This would make /cover function the way I would like /conceal to, so I'm in favor. Might make more sense as a rifleman skill than ranger, anyway.
7. Agree.
8. Not there yet, so I can't say for sure, but I think that it should probably be somewhat more accurate than an average shot. I would also like to see it have SOME function in PvE...
9a. Agree.
9b. Agree.
10. Sounds good, really anything would be better than strafe shot...
11. Strongly agree. I would like to see different guns have different max ranges. Pistols might range from 45-65; carbines 55-75; rifles 65-85 or something. I just don't buy the "too much server strain" argument... I feel like this would make riflemen a much more viable member of groups without causing imbalance.

Agree with the above...


Maybe have a functionnality to be not visible as a red dot on map in PVp when prone somewhere with an ability enabled... we are sniper, we supposed to be stealth. How stealthy is a red dot? Maybe yellow dot when not shooting and red dot after shot or if you didnt use the "camo" ability or whatever they could name it.. just an idea!
