Well after a long period of looking for PvP on Corbantis last night, my friend Mivias and I figured out what must be done to get into cover every time....

Well after a long period of looking for PvP on Corbantis las night, my friend Mivias and I, figured how to get cover to work every time....

What I think the problem is, isn't with the ability, the problem lies that there is no error message associated with why the warm up cycles goes, then nothing happens. Well after extensive use and experimenting I actually recieved an error mesage and figured out what must be done. After hitting the cover button, the warm up cycles like usual, but did not have the red outline around it like I have gotten used to. It stayed white like it was going to work, then I recieved an error message that stated I was unable to to enter cover because something was close enough to discover me. That peeked my interest and Mivias and I began to experiment, we found that as long as there were no players, NPC, or player controlled pets/vehicles within 20m of us, we could enter cover every single time. And this was at Theed during prime time. We also found, that once under cover, group members rarely uncovered you. I was able to walk to within 0m of him and he remained under cover. However if he was not under cover yet, if I was within the 20m radius, he was not able to go under cover. Anything that you can target within 20m will prevent cover from sticking, as well as the useless NPCs that wander around, those little guys with the title "Commoner". Also noted, that once under cover, if anything walks within that 20m radius, you will be discovered and uncover.

A friend of mine and I are both rangers/riflemen, and we were trying to use cover while hunting some animals on Lok. What you're saying is that we have to be 20m apart from each other, as well? Thanks, that was really bugging us.

You can be in the middle of no where and it won't work the first 3 tries but will the 4th.

Any player that comes close to you, or npc, will discover you and uncover you

Also to cover successfully you must not be visible by your target... thats is go around the corner of a building then cover and crawl around... if your in the wilderness, hide behind a tree or a rock or any other collidable object and then crawl around it. simple as that

Howevfer the problem still remains that once under cover while hunting animals your first Conceal Shot on the animal will cause them to immediately see you and charge your position.

This is still a bug and needs to be fixed. The animal should NOT break cover on your first conceal shot!

its definitely busted...but when it works...its fun.

I've found that its better to not have anything targetted. I have had very little success at anything under 64m getting cover. Here's a weird one. I started facing away from things (if possible) and it seemed to work. Perhaps because i moved after going prone?

Ive been a rifleman for about a year and am loving it more now than ever. If only theyd fix the issues with sniper shot and these probs with cover. With sniper shot I was one shotting level 25's. how i miss i it. Using conceal shotand cover I was picking off entire patrols of stormies from cl 35-65 with only maybe one or two getting close enough to blow my cover. Did a whole patrol of cl45 darktroopers without a single shot fired at me. Happy faction farming for me if they fix it.

It jsut seems to have gotten progressively harder to take cover in general. pity no fixes for rifleman on todays update.

no xp in it, but thats what we have to live with i suppose.

Rifleman used to give you 20 cover points per tree level didn't it? Where's that gone! No wonder nobody can get into cover!

I have tried to achieve cover away from everything and on different planets. I have had to click cover up to 100 times to get it to work sometimes. ( I stop counting at 100) I did get it to work on under 10 clicks a couple times. I tried for about an hour and only got it to work 6 times.

Some SWG opponents are exceptionally stupid and assume that if you can't see them, they can't see you.

Long ago they were cool. Now they're everywhere, and hard to tell apart.
