Thread: Two elite-Elite professions for the rifleman
now a lot of people say riflemen are snipers and a lot of people say riflemen aren't snipers ... maybe the devs should allow US the Riflemen to choose which way we want to go.
have two elite-elite professions for the rifleman ... Sniper and Uber Sharpshooter(working title
) (we will just call it Sharpshooter for right now)
each with thier own specific skills ...
Sniper Line can concentrate on single target high powered slow damage
Sharpshooter can concentrate on AOE status effects and other things(just an example) (ill let the "we're not sniper" bunch figure out this lines abilities.)
both sides would be happy and both sides would be right.
Oooooo.... me like... me like LOTS!!!!!
Very nice idea, IF the Devs could, or would, pull it off. Which is entirely doubtful. It would put us "above", so to speak, the Bounty Hunters, which is unacceptable for them, me thinks. But I personally love the idea.
Haha. yah if it cost 217 skill points to learn we would most definitely pwn. Yes I agree. that is what i was thinking as well for rifleman elite. but one problem....presumably for the sniper side you would take sniping 4 and concealment 4 correct? That would make the other unnamed profession to require countersniping and special abilities. One side would require combat xp and the other not?
Or could the 2 classes be sniper and countersniper? Sniper requiring Sniping accuracy 4 and concealment 4. And countersniper requiring countersniping 4 and concealment 4. I guess first they should start with fixing concealment. But I would love to see this in the future/

not really, im thinking(just a guess) that you will have to master a profession in order to use the Elite-Elite profession. So you will probably have to get Master Rifleman ... then make the decision Sniper or "Sharpshooter". Maybe both would be like the Rifleman tree 3 lines for rifle xp and 1 for combat xp. then again maybe not lol ![]()
i have always asked the Devs to define the rifleman ... but actually i think this would be better for those riflemen that don't want to play the sniper can be the "sharpshooter" and those of us who wish to be the sniper can do so as well.
maybe they should do this with other professions as well Pistoleer, Carbineer melees?

OK i dont really care how it works. Just make it cost 218 skill points
LOL i hear ya
I like the Idea. Fact is all rifleusers are screwed with the fact none of the Hybrids use rifle so we should get two elite-elite professions. First one can be called sniper, second can be called Millitiaman. Millitiaman's best shots would be heavy AOE 5-10 times base damage or maybe just pool specific AOE (5-10 sounds a little much), and sniper would be know for stealth from Radar/BAF.
-I know I'd dump all my CH and Chef/Bartender skills to get there.
I would be happy with a heavy assault type skill set. Rifle should not automatically mean sniper. I want to work with the gunner/soldier side. Maybe use the Light Repeating Rifle in that role.

HAAHAHAH Roger THAT!!
Machinegunner! Excellent idea. I think you hit the nail right on the head, Pecos. That's exactly how the T-21 was written up as being used in the EU (with the generator backpack) and the cone attacks are exactly what SAW gunners are all about. That'd be the EEP I'd go with for sure. =)
I sure hope someone in charge notices these ideas.
I think that having two elite-elite professions would be an excellent idea for the rifleman class. The only thing that I kind of have to disagree with is the machinegunner idea. Even though I think that sounds really friggen cool, shouldn't that be some sort of Carbineer elite elite profession? It does seem to tie into the whole carbine weapon class.
