Ok new to PvP an acutally surviving
I have been mostly using headshot3 like mad (after 2 swigs of brandy and 2 canaps +1600 to focus/willpower and +500 to mind) and minndshot.

one thing I found verry effective is use flurryshot then switch to a pistol pistol whip them and laugh at the effects of my own dizzy/kd attack.

anyone got any sugestions other than these 2 for good PvP

Currently 4/2/0/3 rifleman slowly crawling my way to master (I refuse to grind I want to savor this)

Thanks

HS 3 isn't very good when you compair it to the damage/mind cost of the shot. Head shot 2 willg et ya more shots and is only .5 less ont he damage multiplier.

I'm doing some research on the new food buffs, which is being complicated due to some bugs... Also I guess they changed HAM costs in the patch today, altho I haven't had any time to check it out to see for myself. Once I get all this new stuff figured out for myself, I'm planing on writing a post with hints and tips for master rifleman. Will cover how to make money and succeed in PvP after hitting master, won't cover grinding or anything like that. We have enough of that info already.

The new food and drinks are cool, but the way most chefs are making them may not be the best way to do it, I'll cover that more after I've investigated fully, as I still have to figure out how the stomach works, and have to get together with my fav chef and BE and have a bake party

I'm only slightly above your skill in Rifleman. Crawling my way up the tree as I go, learning to use each shot to the best of my skill... and enjoying the journey.

Grinding sucks the fun out of the game.

I have been a master rifleman for about a month now and started PvP almost immediately after achieving it. The best weapon for a rifleman to use in PvP is a Jawa Ion Rifle (hopefully sliced for damage). Give a mind shot and continue with the headshots and you will be amazed how quickly you start taking people down. Once they are down, use Snipershot to finish them off.

Sunday we had 3 rebels (including myself) go against 30 Imperials all in ST armor. The leader of the group (a MCM) threw a poison and I immediately started headshots. Within 5 min the battle was over and I had19 kills while the rest either ran away or were killed by the other two members. Great fun when you are winning

The only time you use mind shots in PvP is VS Temploiters.

Flurryshot 1 or 2

Mindshot 2

headshot 2

BAM dead temploiter

When I write up my master stratagy guide I'll be covering weapon choice, as well as exploring custom made situational weaponry, which you will most likely have to special order since weapon smiths don't normally stock anything but max damage guns.

Only 2 guns are needed for PvP at master level riflemen

Laser rifle for unarmored tagets and a jawa ion rifle for armored targets. T-21 is optional but often is out damaged by Laser rifes (on our server at least)

When attacking defense stackers be sure to hit them with some flushing shot's. Stun lowers their defense. Then I'll throw in some flurry's to get them dizzy. Then, it depends on the situation. If they are buffed, I'll use headshot2's. If they are unbuffed I'll usually use a mixture of strafe 2's and flushing 2's. If I'm still having problems hitting them after they are stunned I'll run up and intimidate them(sorry, not a rifleman attack but still useful). Or you can try using some /aim's.

Also, I always examine and check for armor. If they are wearing composite, I'll use the jawa of course, otherwise I usually use the T-21. A lot of people have started getting stun-layered helmets, in this case I'll usually use the jawa with flushing and strafe, since these same people usually don't bother with getting a full suit of stun-layered armor.

Now if they are a defense stacked, fully-buffed, full suit of stun-layered armor, I'll use the super secret attack..../burstrun.

Always keep your distance from smurfs as well(blue dots). Never know when that group tef'd tkm will stroll on over and dizzy+kd you or when that commando will light your arse on fire.

Thanks for the tips Looks like I'll be buying some Jawa rifles tonight - I only have one and figured it wasn't worth using since my t21 does way more damage (I know they do diff types of damage).

The most useful tip I can give is going to sound condescending, but it is not. It is this. "If what you are doing is not working, try something else."

People get so locked into trying to find the "magic bullet" that will kill everything in one shot, and it just does not exist. Unlike with PvE, you cannot tell what resistances your opponent has. So, yes, a Jawa is usually the best choice for PvP against a composite armored opponent, and a T21 or Laser is usually best against somoene not wearing armor. But watch the damage you are doing. If their HAM bars are not moving much, your current strategy is not working.

As someone else pointed out, if you start doing headshots with the Jawa and their mind does not start dropping much, it probably means they have a Stun layered helmet on. Switch to random pool with Flushingshot1 or 2 or Strafeshot2. If that does not cause a lot of damage, switch to the T21 or Laser. If that still does not work, you may be in for a long haul. Pull the Jawa back out or go to the E11 (both of which have lower HAM costs) and continue, or stay with the T21 on autofire.

Do not get locked into a "this should be working" mentality, and stand there wasting your own HAM trying to make something work that they are obviously protected against.
