as far as i am aware the 3sec cap was a suggestion made by a dev.. rather than something set in stone - and certainly not included in the upcoming rifle love patch.

or am i wrong?

Well? Is out esteemed colegue correct? Perhaps some of you more enlightened TC chronies could fill us in now that we are correspondent-less.

gawd I hope they aren't putting it through...

Holy crap...how about attending english class, seems you've been skipping that one.

Have you ever heard of a paragraph? How about spellcheck?

That post isn't even worth reading.

normally i dont comment on other folk's grammer and spelling. most of us make a mistake now and then, but that was horrid. i do not think the guy is having trouble because of second language issues either. that is the same sort of stuff i used to have to slog through in college when reading political science professorial writing...

First, I don't think it's fair to blast the guy for his English and grammar.

Second, Who said that we Masters agreed this is OK?? I am a master and I thinka 3-sec cap would totally suk. Instead of taking issue with his grammar, you should take issue with his content. I think the 3-sec cap will totally change the Master Rifleman. I may GRUDGINGLY have agreed to a 2-sec cap, or 1.5, but 3-sec is ridiculous.

Just my opinion. Whichmasters out there think a 3-sec cap is fine? Anyone?

I said it before, that speed is what draws me like a moth to MRM. I would forever be a dabbler if the cap goes in... if even a rifleman at all.

First, I'd like to point out that even ( ! ) foreign languages use punctuation. A few actual periods and appropriately capitalized letters would have done a world of good. Check out how the paragraph cleans up when puctuation, capitalization and spelling are mostly corrected:

I was good friends with Aldeon and knew what was going on when he left, but as far as we know [the] 3 second speed cap was a Dev suggestion, and a good one for it ONLY AFFECTS MASTERS. So those of you not mastered, it will only affect your spraysticks if they add the cap to them.

For those of us that are masters, we have almost all agreed [that] 3 seconds is fine - for one [thing,] we use so much mind [that] 1 second speed kills us. [Second,] we are getting more damage and accuracy, so that will make up for tons. With conceal shot I can solo krayts from 75m with a good t21 - yes it takes hours and learned [patience(?)], but it does work.

This speed cap, however painful, is for [the] good of our proffession. Only assault rifles could be at 1 speed. Even a repeater shouldn't be a 1, 3 is fine with me as long as I am still doing 3-5k or more. Plus now we'll practically not miss [since] a master rifleman shouldn't. But since Aldeon left before his terminal was installed on TC, we know of no master riflemen from TC who post on these boards. Therefore [we have] no idea if the speed comes with our defense, accuracy and damage, but it makes sense, so be ready [and] beware.

It could still be worded better, but do you see how much easier it is to read with a lot of punctuation and spelling changes and a few gramatical changes? There should be no excuse for this...what is this telling us about the public school systems??

SocialConformer...

I generally agree with your posts, but I think you're wrong on this one. Not all foreign languages use punctuation the way we do. Witness bi-directional Arabic and Kanji (sp?). If your main source of learning English was VERBAL with very little written teaching, I think you'd have a real tough time getting it anywhere near correct.

Actually Kanji does have some punctuation, also words in japanese (or at least the last character) denote punctuations. Blah blah blah desu normally would have a round period like symbol representing a period after this. Blah blah blah desuka would also have a round period symbol but this is actually a question. As for arabic...I don't know a thing about it other then being great for southpaws. Also learning english verbally isn't learning english, it is learning engrish. I have too brothers, would be an example of this. That person hasn't learned english and shouldn't use it outside.

And the public school system is fine, parents just need to stop drugging up their kids and make them a bit more interested in learning things. Well outside of how to sit in front of a TV for 5 hours and not make a sound. That has been my experience anyway, it is probably worse off in big cities but suburbia has no excuse.
