Does block work?

Does pikeman block stack with rifleman block?

What's the block formula?

Any MRM (or MRM+MPM) seeing a significant number of blocked attacks?

Well, the issue for pikemen is that it never SAYS block, but they counter-attack sometimes. So it looks like it works, maybe, but it says the wrong thing. Maybe that's our issue too?

If block does work, it works very poorly. Some people say it works but is bugged and uses the "counter attack" message and not the block message when you block.

As for stacking with the pikeman block, I tried to find out before and most people seem to think they do. You have to be using a pike or a rifle for the block to take effect however.

Many people seem to think that all the defense skills do nothingagainst special attacks. Being that all most people use in PVP ARE speical attacks, if this is true, it means defensive skills are basicly pointless in PVP.

The pistoleer/fencers with +180 to dodge show that defensive abilities work VERY well in PvP. Ever had to fight someone where 70-90% of your shots miss, even if you're standing still?

Block DOES work, but for NPCs/MOBs

I've seen guys blocking on my combat spam window, at it appears to be half or so damage done.

EX:
Flurry Shot hits Jim-bob for 1000 damage!
Flurry Shot hits Jim-bob, but he blocks it and it does 500 damage.

It looks somthing like that, but the MOB/NPC may be blocking a certain amount of damage

IE:
Flurry Shot hits Jim-bob for 1000 damage, but he blocks 500 damage!

The target is hit with some damage when you get a block, and that damageis effected by AP/resists, (the floaties are higher) but I don't know how much is blocked or how it works. That may be the teritory of someone who REALLY knows this combat system .... cough *VG* cough.

What the hell is block anyway? You put your arm up and block the energy blast?! You either dodge.. or don't dodge.. but I don't think you should be able to block a laser blast..

I always have my combat window open and I have noticed some strange things with the defenses. Numerous times I get shot at and the window says "...shoots at you for xxxx but you counterattack!" or "...you block it" and so on with now Red text listingdamage incurred from doing this. Thats great, he didn't actually hit me, right? So how come sometimes when I successfully defend and don't take any listed damage I still get wounds (listed in colored text) and better yet occasionally get incapped?

If they fix block and make it worth something I'lltake uppikeman.

That is exactly what happens, seen this in my combat window lately BLOCK is represented by COUNTERATTACK and reduces the damage dealt by the enemy hit.

i evade the shot sometimes, (i end up sidestepping one way or tother, and if kneeling, dive left of right) which is funny
