That would bring back horrific memories of LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG downtimes inbetween assaults.....O and dying, which is kinda hard to do now..

The group hunting concept is pretty much out the window as I see it...

ok After that little rant, I wouldn't even think about hunting without buffs, but maybe going armorless wouldn't be so bad...

EDIT: Just wanted to add a few things.. Those memories I had of downtimes were when riflemen had the 3X melee dmg bull**edit**..

Things prolly wouldnt be as bad now... The stuff chefs make is pretty powerful if you dont consider those buffs..

I hardly ever use buffs (including food and spice) and despise composite. However I would strongly advise you stay away from the "adventure" planets without them or armor. The missions I generally run unchanged are 6k stormtrooper missions between my town and a base just about the perfect distance away to have an overlapping kill zone. I could also see doing the normal missions against nyax cultists or grondas but I like getting FP If you want to/plan on taking out nightsisters or attacking rancors I'd suggest you get back in the buffline.

Really the only hint I can give is watch your mind bar. Don't go into a fight with your mission objectiveblind and without thought. You pretty much have to think tactics to some extent before beginning. Basically just "do I have enough mind to get off enough specials." "Should I go for strafe2 and get out those 2 right away then possibly retreat on my bike" or "should I useheadshot3 and the few free shots to kill 'em off even though I'd be empty on mind for the next 4 minutes." Be sure to have a muon on your hotkey since it's the closest you can get to a stim since brandy and canape make you full and you may be unable to take anymore when you need a mind heal the most.

I still hunt often with no armor and no buffs other then a single brandy. I hunt lots on Lok and pretty much the only thing I am scared of on lok is the Kimo's - recommend armor + full buffs for them. Other then that on lok anything at all is killable without buffs and just a bit of strategy. My prefered target is the rebel and I can take out most bases in about 2 mins without buffs (20 secs with buffs!). Only if I hunt on dathomir do I wear armor at all times.

When solo, I regularly hunt without armor or buffs -- something that my friends seem to find both idiotic and amusing in equal parts. In fact, I can probably count on one hand the number of time I have been buffed when solo.

I find that 2 brandies takes care of the mind costs, but the hits to health and action can be a bit dicey if I'm not careful. Getting carried away and whacking 'just one more' target has gotten me incapped and/or killed more than once due to a miss at the wrong time and getting smacked in a low pool. I hacve novice medic, and some decent stim-b's, so that helps. Usually after 2 or 3 kills my health and action are low, so I pop a stim-b and I'm good to go.

I have a set of ubese that I really only put on when I am grouped, and thats because one of my regular group mates is a master doc, so I'll be buffed then and more reckless... Stupid things likeblasting an enraged rancor lair while the spawn is up, just to see how good my friend theTKM really is, etc. But I only hunt with those guys one night a week, since any other time I am on is bound to be at some oddball time when my friends are not.

Personally I enjoy the game much more when I am unbuffed and unarmored. It can be tough, and you will die, but as long as you are cloned and insured, the death penalty really isn't so bad. Since you don't have to recover your corpse, lose xp, or suffer any adverse effects (so long as you are cloned on the planet you died on) there is really no great loss.

And even buffed, if you go to Dathomir and are just a wee bit careless, you can get whacked by a night sister before you even know it. Had this happento me one daywhile I was hunting lowland brackasets, not 5 minutes after I got buffed. Waste of 10k and a nice set of 2500 pt, 3 hour buffs. After that, I figured heck with it. I can die just as easily unbuffed.

My advice to you is simply this. Try it out. If you enjoy it, go for it. If you hate it, then armor up, and buff up. If you want and enjoy achallenge, I think you'll prefer the former.

I fight Unbuffed and unarmored all the time. I went through all of Rifleman without using a single buff. I do a shot of brandy and set my droid tank in to kill off whole lairs of animals, otherwise I just make do with traps, suppression fire, warning shot, and the like.

I don't wear armor and I don't get doc buffs. I drink brandy and I eat one helping of Ahrisa because I migrated all my stats to Health/Strength, Action/Quickness to help with the HAM costs that I can't totally eliminate by eating and drinking the mind foods.

I am a master rifle, nearly master CH with medic 4-0-4-0. I can heal for 2k with stim D's and over 1k with stim b's.

I have been levelling CH almost entirely on Dathomir and Endor and can bring down all the Rancors, singing mountain clan types and the occasional nightsister that I run across -not the elder/stalker immune types.

I am not bragging, but this stuff can be done. You are not going to be the 1-man uber button pushing spam freak that a fully doc buffed and composite wearing player will be, but you will enjoy yourself.

Oh, and keep in mind that I have not been using big pets on Dath. I have been using level 12-16 pets with 2.5k ham to level CH. I personally find the possibility of dying brings something to the game. Walking around the forest of Dathomir being stalked by bull rancors should be scary....not inconveniencing.

Of course part of me wants to try carbineer once I get CH mastered...and I know that the HAM costs there are entirely different and wholly unreasonable.

Have fun!

I do 7k+ ST missions unbuffed and unarmored but with food. It's more fun when you actually have to pay attention. You'll need novice medic and Stim Bs for this though.

I constantly hunt without buffs and armor.

All I do isdown some brandy and am ready to go.

I'm a human and my Stats are set at:

700-400-400 700-400-400900-1100-400, I do fine against most of the creature MOB's on Dantooine

Oh ya and no medic also.

I haven't used buffs in a long time, and I'm gladI stopped. First off, it saves 10 to 12k. That doesn't seem like a lot at first, but12k every 3 hours or every time you feel like firing a rifle. Dont wear armor, mainly because I've got a +7 rifle speed mod, +15 Intimidate/Warcry, +2 counterattack, and +1 to Dodge pair of pants and a shirt with +18 to cover, not that I really use /takecover, but it looks nice

Gotta love bein' a tailor....

So, it can be done. :-) I'm a Wookies, so I can take some punishment. I've had my stats migrated to give me high mind, middle strength and action, good constitution, stamina, etc. OK, so I'll head out with my tanker droid. Strategy is the key here, I see. What rifles do you prefer on these expeditions?

One more question. I know about brandy, which i have plenty of. Are there any good good mind buffing foods to use in conjunction with it?

And, are there any foods that increase accuracy?
