Block works. Though it's far less effective in the alternatives.
Secondary defenses appear to be effected by the attackers accuracy. So it could matter.

I'm a mrifleman/mpikeman, the over-the-cap Block works pretty well,even though it lets 50% in unlike the others that blockout100%

I mean honestly has any one ever used a lets say +17 block attachment do you notice a dramatic difference in the way you pvp and pve with the extra 17 or does block not even matter?

Ditto. Switching to Pike leads to some very funny combat spam.

Now that I have a couple box's of countersniping I have seen a difference on how much I block. Lots more from 1st box compared to 3rd imo

i just started pikeman and while using pikes I really notice a difference because it has a more visual dto show that you blocked. IMO capping out any defense will improve much more

Xanatos, block on rifles without pikeman over cap really is only noticed on your speeder, I rarely EVER block with just +105 block on rifleman,+80 base and +25 from attachments. When I was rifleman/pikeman when I went pike it just went crazy on block.

They go off quite a lot actually, it seems being on a speeder or mount increases the chance QUITE drastically.

And they also can go off when you are incap'd.
