I have been surfing around and it looks like us riflemen might get a pretty sweet array of new toys to play with I thought the massassia (SP :/ ) rifle and the proton rifle would be it for us but from the looks of it we are getting some cool toys. I so want that explosive shell sniper rifle. I'm just currious if that massassia rifle the 1 with the wookie holding it will be enabled for us all or if it will be a wookie only weapon like the bowcaster.

Hmmm Why would it be called a Sniper Rifle if the Commando's were going to get it ?

Name: Explosive Shell Sniper Rifle
Effective Range: Long
Type: Rifle
Description: A power rifle capable of taking down even the toughest targets.

Also don't think there is a blast damage type in the CU

  • All weapons will do a base damage of type of two possible types: "Kinetic" or "Energy". Several weapons will do additional elemental damage of one of the following types: "Heat", "Cold", "Acid", "Electrical".

  • And even if it is going to be a Commando weapon think thats what I am going to have as 2nd prof anyway because I can't afford the skill points for the 2 extra trees I'd need for Rifleman/TKM can only really afford the one extra Branch

  • Rifleman = Marksman, Rifles Tree (4 boxes), Marksman Ranged Support Tree (4 boxes)

  • TKA= Brawler, Unarmed Specialization Tree (4 boxes), Brawler, 2H Sword Specialization Tree (4 boxes)

  • Commando = Brawler, Unarmed Specialization Tree (4 boxes), Marksman Ranged Support Tree (4 boxes)

So looks like Rifleman/Commando for me then

The funny thing is I saw it and didn't want it... It's an ugly gun!

I have a fine sense of Aesthetics and that rifle kinda offends then them... At least I can hope for a few of the others we have seen listed. (even the ink gun looks nicer).

but otoh I do like effectiveness as well and if it is effective and cert'd to rifleman I will own it and use it in the proper situations.

I have a sense of aesthetics to, I'm more concerned with the target's apperence though, the crispier/blown up/shredded into a million bits, the better!

*points out that Cpl_Fisher is more commando then rifleman..... which is yet again shown in his preference for shredded and burned targets rather then targets with nice small holes punched through then so that light can be seen but the whole is still generally intact - much easier to clean up after.....

Well since the rumor mill is running...

Rumor has it that rifleman will have greater ranges than the listed 64m in the latest CU documents

If this is the case, then yes by all means long range combat is possible. However, I doubt that this is the case, since we need to keep some sense of balance in the game - but just imagine a melee player trying to catch up with a rifleman kiting from 100m away.

(It's the meleers ass for not having some friends with ranged that for sure. Finally, we'd get ranged > melee in outdoor situations like it should be)

    One can only hope, eh?
