*points out that Cpl_Fisher is more commando then rifleman..... which is yet again shown in his preference for shredded and burned targets rather then targets with nice small holes punched through then so that light can be seen but the whole is still generally intact - much easier to clean up after.....

Cpl_Fisher lives by the motto, Ammunition is cheap, my a$$ is not. When in doubt, empty your magazine, then have your buddy cover you while you reload to do it again.

Oh and I've been certed, ant one point or another, for EVERY weapon that uses a blaster, or projecile rifle barrel, fired every one but the beserker rifle to.

No such thing... I think Pistoleer and Carbines will be Reduced to 45m and 30m or so, I dont think the computer has the capacity for catching a player 100m away before you get 60m or less closer and backing away...

Explain JTL then. Those ranges are extreme and there are similarities in the engine. In fact, both JTL and SWG run on the same "plane". Ever seen a glitched player in space? I've glitched into outer space while on the ground. I've had a few technically-minded people explain that 64m+ combat is "possible", it's just that it is likely not being implemented for one reason or another.

And yes, there is a RUMOR that combat range may be extended beyond 100 meters. The rumor stems from a document stating thatBASIC attacks will not be able to reach beyond 64m. Now the rumor stems from the assumption that basic attacks will be the default /attack, or something to similar to that. While it is justwordplay, one canhope that "advanced" attacks, if they exist, will extend beyond 64meters. Perhaps SniperShot will function like it's supposed to.

Also, there is nothing to indicate that any ranged weapons will recieve a range reduction...everythingwe've seen so far has pointed toimproving ranged combat (thankfully), so your "assumption" is likely not going to take place.

No, it's not ugly. It's FUGLY.

If it works like a true Anti-Material Rifle, I won't care about how it looks though...lol. I'm talking like... Barrett M82 .50 CaliberRaufoss stuff here....one shot = target vaporized. We can only hope...

well i think everyone is overlooking accuracy modifiers, i'm assuming its ideal range will be at 64 meters thus making it a long range gun

combat is possible as is up to 80m.

I use /mindshot2 from 64m on Juvie Krayts, then go out to about 70-80m and wait for the aggro. Once it agros and i can spam MasterHeadshot from 70+m and it works.

so they can extend combat to 80m at least.

(It's the meleers ass for not having some friends with ranged that for sure. Finally, we'd get ranged > melee in outdoor situations like it should be)

One can only hope, eh?

Where it's nice and flat, you're right. But I don't think this is gonna work with the nice line of sight thing they're putting in too (like on dath, except for the village there's hardly a flat spot on the whole damned planet). No more shooting through the hillsides

Now that it's OK to support the removal of classes in your signature, I firmly support the removal of all the benny hill glowstick fanclub from the game; it was a lot more fun before they came.

problem with that, it seems they are confusing /cover with concealment wich is totally wrong. taking cover is an actually defensive move to avoid getting shot, just how it works now. they seem to be completey nerfing that and turning it into concealment.

they actually had a perfectly working game mechanic for a while, i guess they just couldnt stand that, so they had to go muck it up.
