Why won't we have a range deathblow?

We will be slow and have crappy defenses. You incap a guy from 64m and then have to get up, shuffle (carring heavy rifle), into melee range and wack the dude on the head with your hand? Come on... how much sense does that make?

Give us back a ranged deathblow... in fact give it to all the people who shoot guns! That's the whole point of ranged weapons... never get close!

This has been much discussed. The devs are pushing a progrouping agenda for PVP as well. That is you can knock em down but your tank DBs them. They also have no problem as far as I can tell with us just Triplecapping people.

btw:

  • buffs no longer go away if you get killed - you clone with the buff intact (or rez)

  • you can log out for a day with inspiration buffs still remaining and log back in and they still have the same time remaining

Buffs not going away is a bug, Patch Notes of CU Version 0.119696 - April 13, 2005 said they will now be cleared upon death.

Well, as long as my stomach empties when I clone, I'm om with that. But this cloning with a full stomach stuff is nonsense!

Yup, also true - has anybody considered writing a bug ticket for every full stomach post-cloning?

Wow, I excited to see a correspondent post in a thread I started!

Anyway... Does the part about pro-group PvP mean that BHs (yes, looks like BHs can also be rifleman) can group with a melee player to kill a Jedi? I thought it was a one on one deal. (Sorry couldn't resist.)

Seriously, a snipers job is to KILL from a distance, not incap.

Thanks for taking up the chain.

/pet Anyway I am a player just like you - so the same concerns affect me - I tend to read most threads (and reply to about 20% of them) in the rifleman forums.

really we have no idea of the jedi vs player rules post cu (the jedi correspondent can't test jedi on TC-ep3 unless he grinds it himself (impossible in the time permitted))

Are you serious? I was assuming that at some point the blue frogs will hand out skills for elite professions in order to facilitate profession-combination testing. At which point I assumed existing jedi accounts will get the jedi options from the blue frogs, also.
But then again, Im just an average person with a little common sense and without a view on the overall picture, since SOE hasnt released any testing stage schedules.
