I'm 1-0-0-0 Rifleman (yeah i know i'm up there ) I was curious how I can solo with rifleman? I'm not much a of a grouper and I know with the current CU grouping is really important but I was curious how to solo. What level can I start soloing? What should I kill? Can I solo now? Also, What shots should I use?

Thanks in advance for your help

Are you anything else as far as professions go? If you were a ranger and had the Camo tree, PvE against creatures would be one way to do it. Also, if you really want to solo with rifles, the first skill tree I would pursue would be the Concealment tree. That would allow you to get two or three good shots off before you got aggroed. Then you could kite whatever you're attacking and once they're dead, you go back and do it again. Soloing with rifles is a long, slow process, but it is doable.

Cheers!

Well maybe I will work on that tree next. Where would be a good place to hunt?

That depends on how fast you want to gain XP. Grouping right now is the best way to gain XP. Like I said, you can solo, but it takes a while. Get a mission off of a terminal, making sure the creatures are not really really aggressive...some mobs, if you attack one, the rest will come after you. Start with missions 1 or 2 levels below you. DONT SPAM YOUR SPECIALS. You waste your action pool that way. Save the specials.

Try that and see, if not just group up with a high level group on Dantooine...quick way to earn XP and its fun.

Cheers!

Although I'm not a big fan of soloing, you should be able to pull it off easily if you just pick your targets carefully. We aren't supermen anymore, so that means you just have to stick to things right about your level. One thing is take up some scout, get some traps and only fight creatures. Things like the P-dart really help, and keep critters from biting chunks out of you. Also, if you stay maximum distance from your target, you can always get acouple of free shots on it before it starts to charge you.

Not sure I can help you since I was already a master rifleman before the CU and found that after it I could solo just fine, but thats with all the abilities of a MRifle and MBH.

But at low levels, yeah, take missions for something that doesn't assist and isn't agro first of all and for god sakes nothing that shoots. Personal favorite here is Swamp Humbabas on Corellia.

And basically, get as far away as you can. Use your sniper attack, then your snare(kneeecap), then just start running in a BIG circle. I've found that monsters in this game, at least, animals, don't run directly towards you, they follow the path you ran. So you run in a circle, and it follows you around the circle instead of straight at you. Underhand shot from BH and Stopping shot from Pistoleer make this process alot easier as well.

I can solo mobs my own level without getting hit as long as they aren't assist or shooters.

How do you handle those pesky high level NPC riflemen? Just curious since one of the few problems I have is with high level NPC rifleman rebels like the ones that guard detatchment headquarters and the Admirals in the corvette.

Also try and start your attack from the maximum range of your weapon. This will ensure you'll get as many shots off as possible before any melee opponents can close on you. And you're probably better off taking on melee-only opponents if you're trying to go solo, because you'll probably get pasted trying to take on anything on an even footing.

At Sniping 1, you do have the low level "Sniper Shot", which you can use whilst prone (type /prone or put it on your toolbar), which should do a decent amount of damage. You'll only get one off, but you can follow it up with Head Shot to pile on a bit more damage. Your target will probably decide to rush you around then, so you may want to consider standing up right after the Head Shot and preparing to back off in a safe direction.

At that level though, you're really better off getting in a group that includes a Master Rifleman and tagging along with them. You won't be useless to the group (Kneecap Shot, throwing in some Head Shots for extra damage) and you'll have a teacher on hand to whip you up the levels. Good groups won't care if you're fairly low level, if you're in a general hunting + xp group. The most important part is that everyone brings a world of hurt as best they can on the group's opponents. 8 players doing 100 damage every 3 seconds will add up pretty nicely against not-too-powerful opponents.

Just don't ask to tag along on a Krayt hunt. You'll go squish if one even looks at you funny.

hmm I solo Rifleman by shooting them first with a root followed immediately by startle shot then follow that with a snipershot followed by disarming shot followed by startle shot after 3 secs followed by a snipershot....

oh you meant hunting as a solo rifleman ^_^ as above then ^_-

How do you solo Rifleman?

Personally, I like to wait until they are prone and concealed. Then, in the midst of their false sense of security I run up on them with a paper bag full of air and..... POW!!!

Additionally Ackehece has given me a new love of Riflewomen!!! Riflemen are into stuff too!
