Welcome to this weeks briefing by your humble servant, please attend to my words.

Fixes are coming - at least that is what we have been told to a few of our major bugs. Cover/Snipershot/Aim all should work better but I until it is widely tested I will not say it is 100% fixed even though my tests indicate that it is significantly improved. Rifle certs are still a bit whacky and combat is unusual to say the least.

Nerf cries are already being heard - amazing it took about 2 weeks longer then I expected. Nerf range, Nerf last ditch, nerf root etc. I think we need to make sure we are not among those calling for nerfs. Sure some professions are better at things then we are but all professions have strengths and saying that their strength should be reduced is not the way to better game play. Almost everything people are calling for nerfs on right now can be countered with decent tactics.

Rifleman as a whole group we have been doing fairly well and the weaponsmiths are starting to pump up the decent replacements for our precu weapons. It appears that Balance in weapon design now is more important then any one stat. Better to have a lower SAC good speed and decent damage then maximizing any particular one of those variables. (though if you desire I would suggest max damage, then lower sac and then speed (speed we can gain fairly well through combat builds and attachments). Powerups are interesting in that they tend to be slightly better then zero averaging now - that is to say you do get a benefit but not as much as if it did not have a negative modifier attached to it.

Quest items are having a huge effect on our profession - possibly more then any other combatprofession in the game. Our best weapons are now ROTW loot items, Our range and ranged death blow are now items that can be gained by sacrificing parts of your body and not inherent to our profession anymore. All in all in my opinion a bad way for the game to head. It is alienating large segments of the game. Who here has had to see a crafter for a new item post CU? We all probablyhave. But who here is also looking to replace what they bought already with a loot item that is better?

Please make sure to support your rangers, entertainers and docs. All of whom have experience significant changes in game play as well. I especially ask that you support ATK entertainer types. They are a rare and dying breed since before the CU but the bleed has increased since the CU when they lost many of their abilities.

Shall I hold my breath waiting for these fixes? I feel like going on vacation and asking you to page me when most of the issues have been dealt with and/or fixed.

Dev's: Can we get the SEA mods that do not work replaced with mods that do? Also, while you're at it, make sure to update the loot table by deleting mods for SEA's that are no longer applicable. Thanks.

Good summary, Acke. I appreciate the reminder to rifles not to be seen to eb the ones rocking the boat here. Nerfs are not what is needed, just fixes. I also appreciate the rallying cry for Crafters and entertainers... my alt is a new Doc, so I don't have a frame of reference by which to compare the experience, but I have to say he's been pretty useful, and a welcome addition to any hunting party. No doubt however there are concerns of which I am not aware.

Publish 17 should be going live soon, barring a major hiccup on TC. In this case Ithink soon is measured in days rather than weeks...

Seems like you were right on target. Pub 17 goes live @ ~11AM PDT.

Nice update, Acke...

Regarding quest items, I thought I read somewhere that weaponssmiths have a radial option on quest weapons that allows them to turn the weapons into limited use schematics. Is there any thruth in that, or is it part of the weaponsmith wishlist...??? If it's a fairy tale then I think it would be an interesting option. I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting pretty fed up with all those laser rifles and T21s...

And one thing about supporting docs...they seemto beextinct already...
