Note how I totally had the drop on him and he wasn't paying any attention.
I even used /aim. And kneeled.
All of his shots at me were while we were both running, didn't miss once.
Can't kill what I can't hit.
And to think, BH ranged defense = 0.
Rifleman ranged defense = highest of all the ranged classes, but is worthless anyway.
Hello, kthx worthless class.
Eyeshot is a bitch. ![]()
At least you got off a 230 mind bleed on him ... that's an automatic incap unless he can get a high level Doctor to /firstaid him 3-4 times in the next forty seconds. ![]()
Are you sure about that? There's a couple of guys on my server who always seem to nail me with /mindshot2 and I still get incapped even after two /firstaids from a Master Doctor. Maybe it depends on the wound chance of the weapon or something? I'd be curious how it works.
I'm waiting for this post. Oh yeah, and the BH spent all those skill points, why shouldn't he be god?
No, I'm actually curious how bleeds work. I think there's something we don't know about them, because I find that when I get hit with a large bleed it takes a lot more than one or two /firstaids to get rid of it, even if I use a Master Doctor.
As I said in the first post, eyeshot is a pain in the ass without a doubt. Not disputing that.
Eyeshot must have a HUGE accuracy bonus.
As a Rifleman/Swordsman I have a lot of "Ranged Defense", and I was running, and he was running, but he still didn't miss a single Eyeshot. Meanwhile I couldn't land MS2 and MS1 repeatedly while we were both standing still and I was using /aim!
What the hell is the accuracy bonus on eyeshot? +100%?
It's not like he was right in front of me either, he never got closer than 40m.
Must be nice to be 100% accurate and fire with the damage of a T21 once per second.
BHs do have ranged defense in spirit, once they land blind. It seems like the accuracy reduction is pretty substational, that's a huge defensive bonus for them, the same as ranged defense.
Rifles are limited in not usually wearing helmets because of the willpower/focus reduction. This is a bigger disadvantage than you might realize. You could in theory be wearing a 70% composite helm (they go as high as 80+ % with a good slice), and take 75dmg per hit rather than 250. That's what non-mind using professions get to wear.
Of course, in any mind vs mind battle, all things equal, rifles will kil their mind and do mind, BHs will kill mind and do action, unless buffed, and do no damage to themsleves. Maybe the new entertainer buffs will even that out a little? Otherwise, you will ALWAYS be at a loss, unless you bleed and run behind some cover.
Lastly, what's his secondary profession? If he went pistoleer, he probably has stacked accuracy, and stacked speed, maxed out. That means it's likely you'd have to hit mastery just to be skill-point comparable.
Because of the way speed works, things are drastically out of whack if one person hit cap, and another didn't yet (you in this case). In theory, that was what was supposed to be fixed with speed, unfortunately, it looks like they are going to goof the fix as well.
I agree, there is no "good" counter to eyeshot in the long run, BHs are quite lucky in that respect.
He didn't land blind until after I'd already missed repeatedly.
I agree that BH+Pistoleer is a huge part of the problem. It stacks too many bonuses and creates a SuperProfession that no other template can match. There's nothing a rifleman can combine with that will give them the same huge benefits of a BH+Pistoleer. A BH+Rifleman would be a silly combination because the one does almost nothing for the other.
Usually when I say "BH" just assume I mean "BH+Pistoleer". I don't know of any BH that isn't also a Pistoleer, and I very rarely see a Pistoleer that isn't also a BH.
They should give BH's seperate skills and weapons. Make the Scatter Pistol usenew skills called "Scatterpistol Accuracy" and "Scatterpistol Speed", replacing "Pistol Accuracy" and "Pistol Speed" in the BH tree. That way pistoleer bonuses and BH bonuses won't stack.
Actually, I'm a BH and a rifleman. So now you know one who's not a pistoleer.
I'll also probably be the first one to say that pistols are WAY too powerful. I would love for the devs to explain why pistols should be the most accurate gun at any range. DEVs have even said that pistols were out of whack, and yet nothing has been done about it. Why? 3 out of 4 people playing this game have some points in pistoleer. If pistols were suddenly working as they should, those people would scream bloody murder, and some of them would quit the game. I picked up rifleman because I have hope that this game will someday make sense, and I won't be able to hit anything from >30m with my scatter. Let's hope that happens soon.
The real issue is BHs being able to get +145ish pistol accuracy mod. Most other classes are stuck around +100 when master, with riflemen being a bit higher and other classes getting accuracy while standing/running to compensate. If BH pistol accuracy didn't stack with pistoleer accuracy this really would not be an issue.
