Alright guys I just hit master yesterday and would like to reassure everyone working on rifle that it's worth it. The big problem with rifle is that once you get sniper 2 (HS 3), the ENTIRE rest of the line is for the most part totally worthless. The specials aren't that good as we have no KD or other ways of taking on high lvl mobs solo like the other professions do, and the defense/special bonuses do very very little or nothing at all. So basically what you get is MS2 and HS3 and then a long long (looooooooooong and boring) grind to master. BUT, I had blind faith and you should to. At master, with a 6.4 30-415 laser rifle (radiant hasnt had a resource shift in over a month) I am firing Strafe Shot 2 for average 2500 *area effect* damage nearly every second! This makes me a monster against AI (take down 3 ST's in 5 shot? I did it...) And a PVP god (Incapped 3 people at once then just picked em off with sniper shot). In fact most people were dead within 2 seconds of entering my range from 64m away! I almost never missed while running.

Now I know the damage reduction may make things difficult, but with our mind shot and super fast head shots I still think we will be able to do well....

Thanks for the post, it's nice to see some positive feed-back on the profession. Sort of reignites my interest in it. One question though...am I the only one in love with conceal shot? I find this very usefull in soloing.

The sad thing is the misguided want to remove our AE's in place for a harder hitting head shot. AE's will be what people fear from Master Rifleman in PvP. I just hope the few that want to change the profession to their needs instead of adjusting to the class dont get their way.

I was looking at the petition forums and such and saw that people want to make rifleman a little to elite. While there are some obviouse bugs (surprise shot not working and AR being broken on some guns), our class is awesome. If you know what you are doing and dont mind risk, you can solo almost anything as a rifleman and get untouched. Igroup with ppl for xp bonus and then go my own way.

While our dps is lower, we do mind damage, the only unhealable damage, and we canalso pierce armor like a mo fo(when they fix it.) Xp is great for me.After Baz Nitches got nerfed, i had to work a little harder for xp and find new mobs, but its been fun. Rifleman has added balance to my master swordsman profession. I use sword for NPC's (storm troopers) and rifle for monsters. Ranged and melee comes together nice inpvp also. Some guy went prone against me while we were having a shootout, so I ran up to him and busted out my sword.

Anyways, our class is a tricky one to use. You can just spam knockdowns on level 200 mobs and get untouched, but with our feet, some explore 4, mindshot 1 and 2, a t21 for the mindshots and a faster gun for the follow up damage, we can kick some butt

First of all, Congrats. I agree with the above that its nice hearing some positives on this board. I don't mean tohijack your thread, but can you start a thread as to what you found the best areas for xp? I solo mostly and am having a hell of a time grinding it out. Currently, I am novice rifle man with Advanced Accuracy (givesmeHS3)and Intermediate Special Abilities (gives me Flurry Shot).

I've been trying to do escaped Nightsister slaves on Dathomir with Flurry - MS1 - MS2. I'm successfull about half the time and get incap/killed the other half but these seem to be the only things I've found that are non-social (or dont BAF).

Other then firing really fast using Strafe Shot II on a clump of enemy overts is like working for Al Capone.

I use strafe1 on lairs, I have a laser rifle that does 367 dmg and when I use strafe 1 i get around 1k dmg on the lair, sometimes 1100. I like strafe 1 for things every now and then, I want to see what strafe 2 can do on lairs.
