Thread: Why did master have to be so good!

My name is Cyborg......, and I..., am a hologrinder.

There, with that off of my chest, here is my dilemma.

True to Hologrinder form I'veplowed through the Rifleman profession killing Stormtroopers in Mos Espa ina little over a week, and I just hit master today, upon hitting master I realized something........

I love Rifleman!!!!

But.....as a hologrinder, I'm not susposed to fall in love with professions. I'm suposed to have a cold, methodical demeanor about mastering professions, surrender the skill emotionlessly, and move on to the next with no sense of loss.

Darn you Rifleman! You've made me question my faith!

All I can say is when you hit master, Wow! You don't really realize what you got 'til you get that extra speed and Strafe shot 2 in the end. I'm plowing through mobs mercilessly.

Perhaps I'll hold on to it until the dreaded Combat Re-nerf..., uhh, I mean, 'Revamp'. If I remember correctly the Evil 'Dev' tower of Mordor is turning it's eye toward the rifle proffession, and taking away everything that we love about being Master Rifleman. Someone confirm this.

Any way, if that is true, hopefully it will be delayed as long as possible. I would like to play the profession as it is for a while before it get's mowed down. Guess I'll have to pause my super holo grinding mode for a while.

I dont see why they have to nerf rifleman. Its so damn hard to get master in the first place that it is a reward for the poeple who persevere. More effort should = more reward.

I know I will continue until I have master, although I expect it to take me sooooome time.

Cyborg...

I don't know what other professions you have, but you can hologrind most of the professionsand keep rifleman. That's what I amdoing. Rifleman has always beenmy favorite profession... I grinded it in the "old days" when it was actually difficult, andnever plan to give it up.

My hologrinding stopped recently, though, whentwo things happened:

1. My last holocron said "Master Smuggler", which I mastered, and found that I love that also!
So now I have TWO professions I really likeand dont want to give either up.

2. My next holocron says "Master Dancer". Ouch! Not on my "Wow, I want to try that!" list.

However, since Smuggler is pretty easy to master, and since it is getting some annoying nerfs soon, I may drop it, do the Dancer thing, and pick it up again later.

why are you even hologrinding still? They will change the jedi system soon so everything might go to waste.

Hard to master rifleman? The guy just did it in a week, you call that hard? But getting a master elite proffesion should be good just as rifleman is, just wish that applied to carbines and pistols too.

just about any elite combat skill can be done ina week often less. ive done rifle twice. first time took me a week and a half second go round took 5 days and only that long because i had family come by for visit for two days.

but it can take others longer if you dont know all the ins and outs and havent grinded out other skills or its your first skill. experience in how to level fast is far more important than what your leveling.

me telling you to go up flushing2 first is not the same thing as knowing all the ins and outs of what to hunt what stats to balance out what tactics to use along with wepaons etc.

the only skill that really cant be mastered in a week unless your an insane person is bounty hunter. saturday will be the end of week one of mastering BH for me. i expect to be master by the following weekend maybe sooner if i get a good string of easy missions.

Yeah, see that was my problem. I think I'm on like profession 11, and along the way I fell in love with TKM and what I could do with the meditate line, so I decided to keep it. Now, I find that being a TKM / Rifleman is the dopest.

As far as the Jedi chase, I think it's the chase I'm in love with more so than the jedi itself. at launch I was a Pikeman for the longest time. I got laughed at a lot because of the lack of popularity Pike's had at the time but I didn't care, I was unique because I was the only Master Pikeman I'd hardly ever see. But after a while having a lack of goals got boring, and PVP was pointless at the time (is it still?) so, I started grinding.

I've grinded nothing but combat so far, (with the exception of Entertainer, blah!) and my next prof. is BE, the first proffession I'll have to grind with crafting involved and I'm not exactly in a rush to do that.
