Thread: So what's the uber-est of Rifles nowadays?
Edit: Another thing. ALR takes 2 less Krayt tissues than the T21 does. Also check the SAC of a weapon out as well as the DPS.

Damage, speed and SAC are roughly comparable between T-21 and ALR (though due to resource requirements the ALR usually has a slight lead over the T-21). The big difference though is the ALR can take a scope, so you can get a much larger accuracy bonus on it.

I had 6 ident 180 dmg tissue and wanted to make a T21, but when the weaponsmith told me I could get 2 ALRs made with easier to find resources and better accuracy stats I decided to go that route. Even though the T21 looks and sounds cool, it has the exact same dmg speed and SAC caps as the ALR, and ALR is cheaper to make and can have a scope put on it. Only thing better about the T21 is wound%. I can't even tell you what wound% does to help you in a battle.
The T21 is an obsolete piece of hardware only used because of looks and prestige. Maybe the devs will see fit to change this in the future, but for now there is no advantage that I can see to use a T21. What is funny is I still use my T21 even though it is inferior to the Laser Rifles in my inventory. I guess it is kind of like the mechanical arms thing with me. Yeah they make you a more deadly player, but look at you. You got these bony looking arms and are holding a piece of stamped sheet metal with 2 tubes coming out of it that someone stuck a scope and stock on.
That doesn't make much sense, why is the T-21 certed for MRifles but the ALR seems to be a better rifle and anyone can use it.

One more thing about ALR that T21 does not offer, it uses a scope giving it added accuracy bonuses over the T21. It makes no sense, but the ALR is without a doubt a superior weapon to the Master cert-required T21.
If you pvp, you may wish to look into rifles that do kinetic damage. Because most ranged weapons are energy damage, just as are lightsabers, most pvp'ers go heavy on energy protection at the cost of losing kinetic protection. That makes a kinetic weapon with slightly less overall damage output than an energy weapon more desirable for pvp. One example of such a rifle is theFallan Hyper Rifle... reward item, andI believelootdrop as well, but non-craftable to this point.
I have a ALR with about 300dps and 17 accuracy and with 2.5 speed and 98 sac I love it and it only cost like 20k. I hit and ancient krayt using sniper shot at about 1473 and then the rest shots about 700 average hit points.
