Thread: A possable solution to the T21 vs ALR Debate!!!!
I, personally, refuse to pick up an ALR even if my T21 is slightly sub-standard to everyone else. I also have refused to wear those stupid arms to get a few extra meters. Sure, it'll help loads. Yea, it puts me at a huge disadvantage in PvP and not as effective in PvE.
It would certainly be nice if SOE would fix this issue, along with similar weapon balance issues. If people have paid millions for CL54 weapons that suddenly arent' the uber-elite, I'm sorry for them, but I don't see why that justifies keeping a CL54 weapon higher than a Master elite profession weapon.
What would be most ideal is if there was not a definate ONE gun that outdid all the others. There are several good rifles in that profession alone which would provide a good mix. The T21, the ALR, the Berserker, the DXR6-B, the Trando, and so on. As it stands now, a well-crafted Trando is at the top but would cost a fortune to buy, the ALR is the general top end weapon seen, the T21 is below that, and the rest are distant follow-ups when they should be among the elite in the galaxy (looted components for DXR6-B's and Berserker's come to mind. Having a decent E11, what is the mainstay gun of the Imperial army, would be nice, but I'm sure that'll never happen.).
With the CU, SOE did a nice job of balancing the armor. I can craft Chitin or Padded, or even Imperial Stormtrooper armor (Rebel if I was of that faction), that is among the best on the server. It adds flavor. There aren't hundreds of people all wearing composite or some pieces of composite armor. There's hundreds of people with a chunk of Marauder here, some Ubese there, Tantel for those that liked the Lando look in RotJ. Heck, they could wear bone if they wanted.
Now the weapons. They really need the same sort of attention. no, I don't want ALL weapons balanced. Basic rifles need to stay basic. Marksman weapons shouldn't compete with their respective elite class counter-parts. But honestly, everyone carrying the same weapon is just boring. The T21 vs ALR debate is just a very small part of this, though if SOE doesn't take the time to review the entire weapon system, it would be nice if they would take a look at this one small part here.
In my opinion.

I have been a MBH and Master Rifleman since day one. I remember the day when the T21 was feared by all. Now it hangs on my wall as a faint memory of past days. There is no doubt the T21 needs to be fixed from the current state it is in. I cry myself to sleep at night wondering why a level 54 ALR out damages a Master Rifleman certified weapon. One of my late night of crying got me thinking. A T21 should #1 The most powerful rifle in the game period. A good way to make it special for all of us is to make quest based to recieve one. Have us do quest to get certain parts for the T21. We would still need a 12 pt weaponsmith to craft it though. And Once complete the quest. If it be 3-8 quest depending on the number of part and matrial needed. IN a few weeks or months a new we can start a new quest for special attachments or special slicing parts ect... Some quest you may have to get your guild to help. But imagine how proud we would be to have such a powerful rifle knowing we had to go out and find all the parts to it. This ideal could be expanded upon. Not only do I want to developers to fix the problem with the T21 but make it special and let us be proud of it. And every now and then we can get a special new quest to get a awsome attachement to make it better. But make us work for it. Let expand on this ideal guys help me out.

The T-21 and ALR have equal damage and sac caps correct? Is the problem that the t-21 tends to be slower? As far as carbineer goes the lvl 54 Elite Carbine and lvl 54 master E-11 MK2 are really just equal.(sorry, carbineer question)

Ok, say "it is just a game, get over it" for every bug there is then. I'm sure you won't enjoy this game as much in the following months.
And coming to the issue of T21s: The best solution is to give it an elemental damage.
T21s should have elemental HEAT damage of 60 on average, with 80 being the cap (if anyone's foolish enough to actually invest experimentation points on the elemental damage).
That should explain the 1 extra Advanced Blaster Power Handler required to craft it, as well as the lack of a scope component.
Assault bowcaster ftw!![]()
seriously though, i still use my T-21 every now and then for show. Its decent enough. Does enough damage for me. ALRs, well, lets say i am against anything that uses CL for cert, ie stims, camo, weapons, armor, etc....It takes all the uses for grouping medics and scouts/rangers out of the game if everyone can do it.

But to do this, they'd have to drop the min/max dmg on it, so it would balance out. Otherwise you'd have a gun over cap, which would unbalance (from a dev point of view). And if they did drop the min/max the same ammount as the elemental, I still would prefer an easier to get ALR that can get a 50+ acc bonus.

This type of behaviour is rare on the Riflemen forums, I'm not sure why but these boards tend to contain much more intelligent and mature conversations than some of the others.
Ackehece has brought this issue up in the Rifle issues thread but I agree that the T-21 and all Master specific weapons need something special to them. (Aside from the Assault Bowcaster which deserves to be the best kinetic rifle in the game)
