Thread: Need Advice on where to stick AAs

Hey all,

I need some advice. I have a bunch of good Armor Attachments and Clothing Attachments that I want to use to improve my rifle skills. I'm wondering what's the best item/armorpiece/bandolier/boots to stick these into?

Ican wear Recognissance Armor without any penalties, andI can wear Assault Armor but gets severe movement penalties in that.

Okay, so armor boots and gloves does not prevent damage, but they still count as armor right? Can I stick 4 AAs into these perhaps? Good idea or bad?

Pre-nerf Ubese armor shirt - do these take AAs or CAs? These never decay right?

Though I guess this means I can't at the same time wear a Bio-Engineered shirt with +lots melee/ranged defence.

How about bandoliers, are there any bandos that count as armor? Any that also works as a backpack?

Belts.. well, the Ubese Belt is good I suppose, but I have this ADKd PSG that I like to wear and a belt takes the same slot.

Or should I get the best damn Ubese Armor Jacket I can find, and ADK that?
That won't let me switch armor types though.

Any advice on this would be appreciated, I'm really at a loss here.

(Also, if anyone can point me to a thread stating which skillmods work these days, I'd appreciate it)

From experience, I'd say belts/ubese shirts/gloves/boots. Since these pieces don't take damage in combat (gloves/boots recently made that way in the CU) they won't decay except for from uninsured non-pvp deaths (well, and pvp triple incap - but that's another rant for another place and time).

The other armor bits will decay from soaking damage in a fight, as I'm sure you're well aware.

As far as which of these is 'best' - there's really no one that stands above the others. Though you have piqued my curiousity as to whether a Ubese Badolier counts as armor or clothing as far as attachments go.

I put mine in ubese gloves. Even if it does decay due to mot being insured you can still wear it and get the bonus. Since there is no protection there is no need to replace. I say look for boots and gloves for AA and save the bio shirts for the CA.

Lets take this yet one step farther- Now that ROTW is out- do us Wookiees have ANYTHING non-decayable that we can wear under armor? Or are we still hosed when it comes to being able to put AA/CA's in non-decayable stuff?

Anyone?

Can't wooks wear faction armor and/or clone armor? (I may be wrong, but heard it's possible - just looks a little funny)

If so - gloves/boots/belt.

Would be well worth the FP investmen to bio-link them, I'd think.

If not, then I guess you're still stuck w/ BP's for CAs and such. =/

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated!

And yes, Wookiees can wear the Clone Armor. It's freakin scary though, biggest meanest trooper you've ever seen!

as it has been said elswhere, best thing to do, is drop your AA's on pre-converted comp armor (or any armor) gloves and boots, then convert them to battle or recon.

then u gain extra sockets. so say pre-convert your boots had 4 sockets and u use 4 AA's on i t, convert it, and u will have the 4 stats +3 MORE open sockets! i have 7 diff AA stats on my tantel gloves.

post CU crafted gloves and boots have NO sockets... (at least the rebel ones. i droped my only uber +22/+25 AA on a comp boot, converted it to BONE, so as closely as possible match my forthcoming rebarmor)

also the clone armor HAS NO SOCKETS.

gloves and boots even at 1/1 cond, still gives you the mods,,,

Yes pre-cu boots/gloves have sockets and if you refit you get 3 free sockets even if you have used the sockets already.

However, I tried to put an AA in a pre-cu compostine pants and then do a refit but after I put the AA in it I could not refit. Inserting an AA might clear the "pre-cu can refit status" on the armor part. But armor parts which had attachments inserted pre-cu are fine to refit (stats remain and you get 3 new sockets).

Alos ebe aware that you can have max 6 +skill stats on one piece

done last night:

  • added a 2 mod SEA + a 1 mod SEA to 4 socket pre-cu comp boot

  • refitted to bone battle armor

  • has now 3 mods + 3 sockets left

i think refiting counts all currrent mods as one

Is there a list of which AAs that work after the CU somewhere? I have a number of various mods but I have no idea which are good, and which are broken.

For example:

Rifle Accuracy

General Ranged Accuracy

Rifle Crawl Speed

Rifle Accuracy While Moving

I now I personally went out and bought a bunch of pre-cu gloves and boots that had not been re-fitted yet serveral weeks ago. I just looked for cheapest ones or the most sockets.
