Thread: New Rifleman shakes his head

Hello all,
Firstly, this is not a call to nerf, a flame or anything else negative. Merely my observation.
I have been a melee fighter since day one. I think i ran around witha CDEF pistol for a while, but not for long.
Recently I have taken up Rifleman, mostly because Jedi is boring. I am constantly amazed at this skill. I used to have to be buffed, and armored head to toe to stand a chance against most high level foes. Not so, with a rifle. I now run around the fort, for hours at a time, with nothing but a pair of shorts and a chefs hat. A T-21 (not amazing) completes the look. I can stand against anyting the fort has to throw (except the Observer and friends). Conceal shot is an amazing thing. Yesterday I knelt down and nearly dropped a 22k nightsister, without her even knowing I was there. If not for the goofy 'lost sight of target' and then firing a normal shot at her, she would have dropped and I would have been fine.
I am also amazed at how often things miss me. It's like the gun came with its own PSG. Anyway, you all know the score. I just shake my head at all the effort melee takes vs. the relative ease of ranged. A lot of wasted time & effort.

Well if all you use is conceal shot, yes... I guess rifle IS easy. I don't know how boring Jedi is, but killing everything with conceal shot all day long would be boring to me. And there is the small chance of a MIND BLEED occuring with Conceal shot, meaning that the target you are shooting would detect you and come after you on the first bleed tick.
Also, good luck if a TKA gets close to you!

Here are some ideas:
- I've never hunted Nightsisters... wouldn't mind trying that...
- Wouldn't mind getting one or two friends (yours or mine or both, doesnt matter) and trying the Geo Dungeon again.
- I have a link somewhere to a web page that gives good clues about the Corellian Corvette, and I already have a ticket to take a group. wouldnt mind that...
- Maybe some of the POI caves ?
I'm open to suggestions!

Sheesh Wayne, you have some catching up to do 
Well as you know, I've been out for a while (since before Geo cave publish) so I need to do that, the Corvette, NSs are always fun and I can't wait for the Deathwatch Bunker....I think we'll be busy for a while, hehe

Perhaps I should qualify my statements somewhat.
I dont PvP, so TKA are not an issue. I dont only use conceal shot, but was amazed that no one came after me, yes I know about the random bleed. Most of my rifle experience comes from the Tusken fort, where they shoot at me, occasionally switching to melee. A high level tusken can take you apart quite quickly with a rifle, but he also misses quite frequently. It is just this fact, missing, that astonded me. While mastering marksman, I noticed pistol and rifle to be much superior in not taking damage, compared to the carbine tree.
It's not easy, i didn't mean that. But, in comparison to other classes, especially melee, it is a cake walk. I have other skills, that I can fall back on (TKA, Master Pike, Flame4 commando), so I probably stand up longer than just a straight up Rifleman, but its just so nice. To lie 64m away from a stormtrooper and pick away at him, while he stares into the distance. This is a dream compared to chasing after him with a stick, while he runs away shooting at me, always out of range.
BTW: Jedi is mind numbingly boring. Take all the professions you've mastered, then do it alone, plus more, with a kinetic weapon, while being hated by half the population, remove all your defenses, and make sure you have millions of credits to buy the crap you need. Oh, and dont go anywhere fun, since you'll be TEF'd and everyone will want to take a shot at you.

For over 8 months have I trained Riflemen, when you experience MOB warping and 2.5 times melee damage you can talk to me
