I'm looking at these trees, and I cannot believe the xp involved. Please, someone tell me my math is wrong, or that I am under the wrong assumption. For instance, when you get your first rifleman box, lets say, Sniper 1, (after 175,000 point), Your rifle 'pool' goes down to zero, and you now have to get 250,000 MORE for sniper2, and then 350000 MORE for sniper 3, etc.

Assuming I do between 6k and 10k xp per hour...is this right? Is it going to take me a minimum of 500 hours to get the full rifleman tree? Ouch...

Rifle 4 70,000
Rifle 3 15,000
Rifle 2 5,000
Rifle 1 1,000
Novice Rifleman 125,000
Sniper 4 175,000
Sniper 3 250,000
Sniper 2 350,000
Sniper 1 450,000
Concealment4 175,000
Concealmen3 250,000
Concealment2 350,000
Concealment1 450,000
CounterSniper4 900,000
CounterSniper3 350,000
CounterSniper2 250,000
CounterSniper1 175,000

Total XP 4,341,000
xp per hour 10,000
Total Hours 434

Total XP 4,341,000
xp per hour 6,000
Total Hours 724

Mmkay, next logical question being, is my xp per hour too low? I know they don't want everyone being uber-snipers in 4 hours. At the same time, I may want to, I don't know, actually do something ELSE than shoot womprats for the next 500 hours. Try different characters, professions, whatever.

What are you averaging in xp, and what is a reasonable amount to try for per hour? I've heard everything from 6k to 22k in 45 minutes.

HOW much were those master riflemen on ebay?

If I did go full time Rifle XP, I could probably do about 100k Rifle an hour easy if I find the right spawn. But, I am running an Ore Buisness, trying to help others.

Some people swear by big groups and big creatures. They kill one thing for 3000 xp and think "omfg!" Problem is they kill one every 10 minutes.

It's hard to beat newbie xp, really. There's probably still stuff you can one-shot for about 100 xp. It's not glamorous, but 1 shot 100 xp, 1 shot every 10 seconds, say, that's 600 xp per minute or 6000 xp in 10 minutes, assuming you have a constant supply.

(There is a spot in a newbie zone that spawns spiders like mad, I get about 120 xp per spider and can one-shot them witha good hit and it's a neverending supply. If I had more tollerance for boredom I'd have never left.)

Unfortunately, grouping bonuses suck, and groups tend to just wipe out camps fast and end up having to move around a lot to find new camps.

Solo XP on really easy creatures is the way to go, IMO. Even if you don't find the Fountain of Spiders, you can still milk a lair for a long time by yourself.

SWG = a great game for soloers! Groupers usually pay the price of less XP per hour, even if they see larger individual XP chunks.

True, XP rate varies widely so trying to determine a fixed rate is wasting your time. No two people play the same. It boils down to this: Either you want to play or you don't.

PS. Your career does NOT start at Master Whatever. So what's the rush?

well if you're playing in a good dungeon with a group (ie Tusken Fort tunnels you can get tons of XP) I dont really know per hour tho, there is alot of down time as you have to go back out and sit in camp and heal for a while before going back in.

I flew past my other marksman friends because I solo all the time too. I just find the animals that run slower than us, mind shot them, and kite away. If I can find the right spawns, I can kill 3 or 4 red cons at a time that give between 900 and 1500xp each. The whole batch takes about 5-10minutes (including down time). It's a matter of getting good a running and stopping for just a second before you shoot, then taking off again.

And this is done in higher level areas so you have to watch out for fast running aggro animals in the area. It's dangerous and really tiring to do for long periods of time but do the math on the xp. Plus, I'm getting 100-200 scout xp for each one that I harvest.

Jeebus, if ya wanna do the monotonous xp gain, then do the easy stuff, right, what was suggested. It's boring, but good xp. I suggest simpy hunting out in the wild--get things like shaupauts on Naboo, zucca boars on Tatooine and womp rats, even. But watch out, they mob you like mad! Nice one-shot kills are spider on Naboo and I think I can get those Mummer thugs and such outside Coronet on Corellia...

As for fun xp, you can always hunt with a group (or not) getting Tuskens at Wayfar. All Tuskens con red to me, but if you get a big enough group, they go down pretty easy. Yes, there are some times that there are simply too many people to get enough xp--especially with those **edit** pets!!! Argh! But it's well your time in terms of fun! Turn up the sound for nearly "real-life" blaster fire! When you're in the middle of a giant shoot-out, it's nuts, I tell you! I recommend you go at least once to see the craziness.

And as far as I can tell, riflemen do well there.

If you are a rifleman you can solo stormtroopers or if you are a imp you can solo the various rebel troopers but they aren't as good xp. You can kill one stormtrooper by your self in about 1-2 minutes and they yield from 2900-3600 rifle xp a kill(you figure out the combat xp from that). This is all i have been doing xp wise and I got intermediate advance and 1/3 of expert sniping accuracy in no time.
