I am a fairly new Rifleman at 1-0-0-2 and was wondering if i needed to keep my master marksman title or if i could dump everything but the rifle tree. I am not sure what my secondary profession will be yet, but im sure it will soak up a ton of skill points, which is the main reason for my question.

Ive been a BH and am in the process of dropping Commando as i level Rifleman. So far im glad i made this final,I hope, career move. its been a fun challenge not relying on a flame DoT to make my kills for me. thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

once you master rifleman you'll want master marksman, Im debating whether or no to do this myself. It almost halves the amount of time it takes to specials when you reach master.

I'm in the same boat. I'm sure the extra +5% speed would be nice at master, but like you, I'm wondering if the points really are worth it.

I do kinda like the flexibility though, if I'm in a group of entirely body hitting people, I can switch to the pistol (or carbine for leg hitters), or if I'm fighting a melee person... While freeing up 3+ lines of combat would be nice, I'm just not sure what I would do with them to help my combat abilities being a Marksman/Artisan

You could get medic or work on its elite classes (or CH if you're a scout.. creatures make an awesome screen for a rifleman). But one thing I'd definitely do looking at the skill trees is definitely master Rifleman, even if it costs you Master Marksman.

Sorry for rambling, I'm sure a cohesive thought was in there somewhere.

Yes, a rifle speed skill tape would be nice, but they are hard to find.

I went on a group hunt last night with a bunch of guys, one of which just reach Master Rifleman but also has Master Marksman. AllI have to say is HOT **edit**! I can't wait to get me some of that action.. It was something to behold. I'm definitely going to Keep Master Marksman, but I guess it depends if you can spare the extra points.

I still had master marksman when I hit master Rifleman, then I droped it since I never use carbines and spent the points on CH and more medic skills. My rifle still kicks. The freedom of changing between guns is nice, but at master I find the only time I use anything else besides a rifle is when a melee enemy is right on me and I switch to pistol, so those 20 or so points from the carbine tree were just sitting there. Personally I like spending them on other stuff but it all depends on how you want to build your character.

So how much +rifle speed points do you need to make up for not having masater marksman?

Rifle speed +10? +20?

+5 is what master marksmen gives and unless you use the specials from the marksmen tree or /aim there is really no reason to keep it other than the +5 speed.

i find that my speed to mind use is fine where it is now so for me dropping marksmen makes sense when i master rifle. i dont want my mind to drain to nothing by firing too fast. i will net a +5% at master rifle when i drop master marksmen. but i will try it out at least once heh. not having master scout and not being able to see animal levels is REALLLLY irritating me. but dropping marksmen before master rifle would have slowed me down too much and i got enough trapping and survival banked to regain master scout easy.

I've been master rifle for sometime now. And was thinking "what the heck" if i can get the speed bonus w/o having to invest the skill points i might as well. and now that armor has socest I can use my +speed armor things. I have the ranged support line also.

So with my current skill set up you say i only need a +5 speed to fire specials at one second?
