/agree

it will be a good template for you. just understand that the jump from Rifles IV to Novice Rifleman is NOT the same as the jump from Unarmed IV to TKN. you will get PAWNED just using your rifle if you go to places like Fort Tuskan or Dantooine. Get all the Dr. buffs you want, won't help much. you are not fast enough and do not do enough damage to hold your own, TRULY hold your own (as in solo playing) until you have at least 4/0/0/4. even then it is tough agains mobs that swarm.

i am not trying to discourage you form doing it, mearly trying to prepair you for the long road you have ahead

good luck and enjoy one of the best double masteries in the game

Going to disagree with you here. With good armor and doc buffs I soloed quenkers with a laser rifle before I hit novice. Just make sure you have buffs.

It's my profession and i love it...... Im master Rifle and 2/1/4/2 TKA (and still working to goto master and i would have nothing different). I love having Sniper above my head and when doing PvP having a melee prof thinking as soon as they get in on me I'm dead. While taking their HAM down as they are getting closer...... Then Swtiching to TKA...... dizzy/KD.... then they are dead. THey never saw it coming....thinking i was just Rifle...

IT truely is the best of both worlds IMHO.

Important: listen to the above poster though......Working your way up the Ladders for rifle is a bit tiresome at times and a bit harder now that they nerfed bleeding. But it is well WELL WELL, worth it when u get master. I'd trade it for no other prof in my opinon. Also with conceal shot....You can solo just about anything short of a NightSister Elder, and Dark Jedi's, and Krayts........hehe things with 300k HAMS.....LOL, without the MoB or NPC even looking at you. And if they agro.......TKA takes care of them in 3 seconds or less...

Definately the best prof.......Combo (IMHO) in the game.

powerboost is a rifleman's dream. mind + 50% mind is a godsend... put brandy and muon on this, and you're sick with mind-power.

I was doing quenkers at Marksman Rifle 3 unbuffed except Vasarian Brandy and Muon for emergencies. I use 80% resist composite. Use mask scent and prone from 60m and you get 4 or 5 free shots before they notice you. Sure, sometimes you will have to tank them, just kneel and fire away till they die. With good composite you will not take much damage from them even if they both are on you.

My suggestion is get mask scent and a good camo shirt. Get novice medic and some good stim Bs. Then just go kill quenkers for nice and fast exp.

Starting rifles as a TKM is sweet, if you have enough combat xp. I immedaitely went to ranged support IV, and when I got rifleman I immediately went 0/0/0/3. This means you can afford to let a swarm of critters come at you, since your melee defense is almost at 100 at that point, and you have a decent AoE attack in flurryshot 2.

What I usually do is fire head shots with a Laser or T21, prone from long range until a critter notices me. When it charges I just pull out the spraystick and spam overcharge shot or keep up with the headshots. If it brings friends, I'll use point blank area 1. With my high melee defense, I rarely get hit by low to mid-level mobs, which is what I hunt most of the time since I'm still grinding rifle xp anyway.
