Good choice in going rifles! Like you, I was a TKA before going rifles, and it made my life so much easier. A lot of people will tell you a lot of different things, and they are all correct, but I honestly didnt follow any of these posts except which tree's to climb first. First, get your buffs, if you have time to get mind buffs great, if not, get brandy. I went to Endor and just hunted Hanadaks and anything that did kinetic damage (Bols, etc.) I equipped my ubese, was buffed, used the food at the time, and kneeled in place and just fired. Even when they got up in my face, i just fired at them. Having melee mitigation 3 ment they mostly didnt hit me, and if they did, it was vastly reduced damage. With this new brandy, you shouldn't ever have to use muon.

Now, I mostly use my rifle for everything. I pull out the TKA just to get a drop on someone who thinks I'm just a rifleman. But everything else, Rifles baby!
