I recently mastered Rifleman but dropped a few skills to end up at 4124. This gives me decent accuracy andspeed, I can Headshot3,Conceal shot, Use a Disruptor Rifle (and even a berserker) - all the essentials to Rifleman (well apart from the berserker lol)

thoughts please

Edit:

Also at 4124 I have the following mods:

Rifle Speed +70 (+90 at master)

Rifle Accuracy +120 (+160 at master)

Rifle Aiming +60 (+100 at master)

with a few SEA's I think it's worth the extra skil points you gain.

Agreed. You absolutely can dabble in rifleman..it's your toon, do what feels right.

That said, and forgive me for borrowing from Chris Rock, but you can drive with your feet if you want to. It just doesn't necessarily make it a good idea. Giving up Flushing Shot 2 and Strafe 2...in addition to the speed loss? It's the difference between wanting a tank or melee skills, just because that's your preference, and NEEDING a tank or melee skills.

Just my opinion. If it fits your template, and what you find entertaining, have fun with it.

Thanks for an opinion! It's just that everyone tells me you can't dabble in rifleman but having been a master and working out what i want (the ability to destroy the mind bar quickly) it seems that the loss in speed isn't noticed that much, so you can dabble... Flushing shot 2 and Strafe 2 are not needed (remember I only want to damage the mind) so I'm claiming this as a viable rifleman dabble template...

Rifleman of SWG, let me know what you think?

I wouldn't play it. But it's your toon. The speed difference between Master and what you have is considerable. You will not be able to out damage anyone for kill rights with that templet, and like the guy above said, you will have to have mele skills are a good tank in PVE, and there is no point to this templet in PVP.

If you are a ranger type and hide hunting, then this would probably work well. For anyone who wants to loot or PVP, this would be a disaster.

It's only saving 15 skill points as well. It can get you novice something I guess. I don't know any Novice class that's worth giving up Master Rifleman for.

My template is nowRM 4124, CM 4004, DOC 4440 with zero skill points leftover.

It's not the speed i'm after, it's the ability to heal Poisen at 2, Fire at 3 and Disease at 4

Yes, it's your toon, but to the looks of it that you have CM and most of doctor, sounds like a group support template- the lack of master rifles still hurts. One of my toons is a rifleman/fencer, rifleman felt useless without master and I had to depend on rifles with speeds lower than 5.0 to actually shoot effectively and that's often with lower weapon damage unless I have Krayt rifles.

I have done this with my doctor toon, but with carbineer instead of rifleman, and I thought **edit** am I doing since I couldn't use the carbines very effectively other than depend on fullautosingle2 and chargeshot.

Sorry but IMO, rifleman is one of the few professions not worth dabbling in, IMO.

Agree with charprime above. Doc 4030 is the standard "battle doc". If you dropped your doc skills down to 4030, you could keep master riflemen. Keeping the doc wound treatment line over mastering riflemen is a mistake in my opinion - I'm of the opinion that riflemen is the worst profession in the game to dabble in though.

IMO, rifleman is not worth dabbling in unless you have cm so that you can drain their minds quickly with psn and finish them with your slow/inaccurate headshot

Even then, I wouldnt suggest it. I cant imagine not having the master speed.
