No kidding; I've already read at least 2 posts writtenby idiots I've never heard of before that basically call for complete gimping of our profession, by asking that we become a prone snipping class with very low defenses. Un -**edit**ing -believable.....

Let's get some more intelligent posts ther to counteract this stomach-churning stupidity please.

Sorry if my post contradicts any thing people on here post. Or if you feel that you guys don't know me and I don't understand the proffession. I don't post usually since I do not have much to say and was actually going to post it here first to see who would not like what I say, but the page was filling up fast so I went ahead and just threw it up.


But to let you guys know. I read everything on this board and have gotten much help from your great posts. And I have been trying to master this prof since I started, right as the first story arc was ending. So if you hate what I said you can yell at me here and i will look.

The first post summed it up nicely I feel. I like my little annendum of course, but it gets the point across. Weare thefull metal jacket grunt and the lee harvey oswald in one. Either tailor weapons to take advantage of certain parts of the tree allowing us to pick and choose our role or put a RIP tag onthe skill tree in game.


Unless the devs are so removed from the game that they would make a civic structure that is completely useless we should be fine...wait.

Ok I am sorry but I have to point this out. This thread sounds like a major rework and rebalance of the proffessions is coming. WHY THE HELL WASNT THIS DONE IN BETA?????? TOO many major changes have been made to ignore this any longer. The Devs have conned us into paying for beta. I mean hell 99% of the problems they have "Fixed"had to have been perfectly obvious in beta. ATST's,CH overpowered, Droid eng problems, Chef problems, and half the other problems with the professions.



I am sorry to vent but I am sick of this bull**** I just made master a week ago and am mortally afraid that we are going to be nerfed into oblivion.

all i gotta say is the Devs and anyone responding to this subject should be careful to discern what they're nerfing/changing.


are you changing the rifleman profession itself based on a toonthat is nothingbut rifleman?

Or

are you making changes to the rifleman profession because of how it may or may not perform when combined with other professions?


and to what end are you making the changes?


people will always dabble/master other professions to reduce weaknesses in another profession.

example: rifleman have crap for "Defense vs KD" - well, dabbling/mastering pistoleer, TKM, or Fencer solves that problem. A pistoleer might dabble in Rifle to gain Ranged Defenses to fill in their lack of -

is this to be a 'no no'?

Is it me or does this sound like a Rifleman nerf waiting to happen? Thank god WOW isn't that far out because SOE has a habit of nerf first think about results after.

well Klaw, i'm sure you know all the obvious arguments against a nerf to our speed..


1. we use unhealable pool - and even with 1100 human focus (i would love to see other races brought up to this) it's tough to sustain a lot of specials without food/buffs/drugs, and that is an EXPENSIVE habbit.


1.5.pretty hard to wear armor when you can barely get by with specials on food/buffs/drugs as it is...

I don't know how other professions expect non-humans to play rifleman, seems like an exercise in frustration to me...


1.5b - migrating the stats to max focus/mind (on human and other species) reduces the rest of our pools to the point where we NEED food and doc buffs in order to shoot more than a couple specials without stimming ourselves constantly!


2. unless we dabble, a dizzy/KD will kick our collective asses.


3. we have NO status shots other than 'stunned' status. AP/Speed/Dmg/mindshots balance our mind cost/frailty to KD+melee - and we have less accuracy while moving than the other ranged professions.


3.5 If we're blinded (which is easy to do) we are FAR less accurate - taking away our greatest advantage - accuracy and ability to deal dmg and adding to our already frail state.



all that aside, i don't see why it would be unfair to re-introduce the 2.5x melee penalty AT THE MASTER RIFLEMAN BOX (leave it off the rest of the rifle tree, this should only apply to masters) - it would ensure that melee absolutely kicks our hides and really forces us to keep our distance/play snipers/gunners that we are - no more running around like pistoleers on steroids.


that really is all that needs to be done, imo.
