Thats right, look around you...have you noticed anything lately? The rifleman population tends to grow by the day unlike before I had to find a NPC trainer to teach me the majority of my skills. Its pretty much known through out the SWG community that Rifleman is one tuff cookie in PvP, so what profession doesa PvPer seek out? Ding Ding Ding "Rifleman". Just had a PvP tournament on my server and guess who won it? Ding Ding Ding a "Rifleman" PeopleI say this because Im afraid of a well balanced profession catchingthe Nerf Bat. When in reality its not that the Rifleman profession is too good but more like the other profession are broke. For example:

A Master Bounty Hunter....now this cat should give any profession a run for there money in PvP but instead he is a better runner to the dead box. These guys are broke and I feel there pain.

Now granted there are alot of melee professions out there especially TKA but he cant kill you if he cant catch you. Experienced Rifleman > TKA or any other melee profession. Remember kiting is your friend.

Commandos....the ONLY thing to fear is the flamethrower, he sure as hell dont stand no chance against a Rifleman who knows how to keep his distant. And for christ sakes...how long is that acid rifle gonna be out of commision? And that Launcher Pistol only does a tickle becauseit lacks anyspecials. These guys are broke. If your a Master Riflemanand your getting owned by commandos thenyou should seriously consider reevaluating your tatics because youcertainly do suck.

Now the one profession that I do give propts to are the Carbineers. Carbineers are probrably one of the best unheard of professions yet the noobs are being told to stay away because of the ham cost. Granted the ham costs are high but who cares about how much ham your gun is using if your sporting a Doc's Buff.... As far as PvP goes these guys arent broken....granted they have some broken specials but that hasnt convinced me that they cant rumble in the arenaof PvP with any other profession.

Pistoleers on the other hand I havent seen much of, but I do knowI dont see as many as I did back when the FWG5 was uber and popular.

With all the composite armor with resists above 50-80% the Jawa Ion rifle makes the Rifleman Profession uber In PvP. As well as someone who can kite like a champ with a decent T21.

In conclusion I hope thatSOE can fix and balance the professions without hurting or taking away from another but as it stands now this is the Era of the Rifleman. Sobefore you go screaming "we need this andnerfthat" be fortunate that you havea profession that is alot better off than others, and that maybe these professions rely on dabbling not by choice but because thats the only defense they can gain.

I remember the days when Rifleman were few and far between. I blame the sudden increase in Rfileman on holo's. (Its a Given)

lots of rifleman= NERF

It's started on my server. Some retard just posted about how "uber" rifleman are, and that is all people need...

pisses me off.

Even though we really aren't a god-profession, all it takes is people to post about how powerful we are when they get beat by us in PvP, then everyone and their cousin migrates to it and next thing you know we are getting "balanced." Ha!

and there was much rejoicing...

I suggest you guys start posting thread like "RIFLEMAN IS NOT UBER" etc., like guys in the Fencer forum do. Who knows, maybe it'll help.

I call it counter-whining.
The trick is that you need to have at least 2 times more counter-whining posts than the whining ones.

Hey guys i used to be a bh with no skill points and no defences but now i think im gonna go riffleman haha, its really simple riffleman at the MASTER LEVEL is very powerful especialy in pvp. Master Riffleman are feared especialy the riffle/doc combo.

Until other profestions get fixed everyone who wants to be good at pvp will become either a fencer, tka, riffleman, or maybe a pistoleer.

I've always planned on my toon being a rifleman since I first started playing on Day 4 past launch. It's taking me a long time to get to master (still pretty much a novice rifleman...especially since I haven't been able to play in about a month since my computer broke). I'm a casual player anyway, so I don't mind it taking a while to get there. I just hope I can get back in-game before my house disappears...

Well this blows, I purposely picked Rifleman to compliment my Swordsman because with certain professions like TKM, a Swordsman doesn't stand a chance in PvP because of their uber KD/Dizzy combo and if I can weaken them from a distance than it makesa world of a difference when i run up and finish'em off............but I do take pride in my professions andI hate to be apart of the "flavor of the month" *cough* TKM *cough*.............but hopefully they'll address the other professions bugs and broken speicals so that this profession will once again be an elite class.............

Hmm, you guys are a day late and a dollar short. I posted about the increase in riflemen and us being a FOTM about 1-2 months ago, everyone seemed to think no big deal. Well here we are, and it's looking pretty grim.

Only thing that worries me about alot of riflemen is that it usally equals a nerf....Force help us all.

On the whole though, for combat professions, technically I believe we're supposed to be large in number. /shrug Maybe it's just me, but if you really think about it, the rifle was always meant to be the basic advanced firearm for an individual that engages large groups at medium to far range. That's why "riflemen" were the key unit in an army. You usually didn't see thousands of men withpistols running at another army.

It's realistic, at the least for a combat profession. Only downside is you get alot of stupid people that don't know what the crap a rifle is and just choose it because their holo said so, or because they like the idea of our beloved SS2/ sniper shot. PVP in other worlds. But hey we are a pretty awesome class, no denial. And as well we should be.

As to the pistoleers. Go get into a cantina fight, shoot up some close range guys, then go back to your drinks. Soldiers are the bulk of an army, and we're medium-long range units. Carbineers...we love ya bros, sorry you got it so bad right now
