Thread: PvE CU/R/B
- Effectiveness/Ineffectiveness against specific MOBs
- Differences in NPC/Creature tactics against us
- Level difficulty of MOBs and our ability to deal with them
- Sociality/Group-Agro of MOBs and our ability to handle it
- Caves/Dungeons
- Are we viable/effectivein close combat settings
- Do MOB tactics against us change in close combat settings
- Do our tactics change drastically while in close combat settings
- Grouping
- Are we more/less effective in groups
- Do MOBs behave differently toward us while group fighting
- Do our tactics change drastically while group fighting
These are what I see are the best things to keep in mind while we take on the entire galaxy. Remember, we need to determine our viability in the future of SWG as well as report if we are overpowered or underpowered in any situation. It's a big task and I hope you are all looking forward to is as I am.
EDIT: I would ask that when you folks create your toons on the test server, name your chars after your forum names if possible to make it easier for communication and identification. I will attempt to name my toon Roscannon in some form or another.

CDEF Rifles make me
Anyway, on to PVE. Using rifles on level 1-3 is simple at marksman 1000. Level 4-5 enemies are soloable, if you are careful. (I was level 2 at this point) Anything above killed me. I am assuming that the higher you go in level number, the less difference several points will make. It seems to be based on a ration of your Level to the enemy.

Please be sure to test the new fix on terrain as being an obstacle, ie, no longer shooting through hills.
It appears we can no longer shoot through hills. Though if you try you'll see this
-CAN'T SEE-
on your screen over your toon's headover and over...
I am also concerned about AoEs. Do they still exist? If so, will this above mentioned terrain fix be a factor. For example, if I'm in a dungeon and use an AoE on the 3 mobs in front of me will my attacks shoot thru the floor and aggro half the dungeon?
At this point it looks like Rifleman no longer have any AoE or Cone attacks. However with the new push for offensive profession stacking, you should be able to pick up these types of attacks from say Carbineer and use them with your rifles.
Also, how will the z-axis be affected with this terrain fix? Currently, a mob that is 150m(eg) away up the top of a mountain will aggro and attack me because I am only 5meters away on the x or y axis.
Agro is not currently working correctly on TC 5 so it's kind of hard to tell right away, but we will definitely be looking at this as testing goes along.
Thanks, I will help anyway I can.

Yes it appears this way though the higher up you get your toon the difference between difficulty levels gets hazy.
For example we had a group of 5 characters last night, ranging from levels 5-7, attacking a level 9 Jabba's Henchmen. Using only the specials and abilities that we had access to from our current skill set, we were all triple incapped by the NPC repeatedly. It was rough to say the least.

I think theyve been able to enhance the originals TC code for LOS targetting through terrain, because it seems I have a larger field to shoot through, not calculated from foot to foot. I have to run more tests
it is at least midbody to midbody now. (or viewer eyelevel to foot of target
- I was able to shoot from below the crest of a hill at a target I could see on the other side of the crest
- went prone and recieved a -can't see-
- crawled till I could see the top of the creature -can't see-
- stood up and was able to fire again
This sounds exactly like what I was experiencing. It will help everyone if we can determine exactly what the point of origin and point of contact are for Toon to MOB site lines.
