Thread: Player Correspondent Opening: Rifleman
- Are you knowledgeable about the Rifleman profession?
- Are you a community leader?
- Can you objectively identify relevant issues and distinguish them from simply passionate arguments?
- Do you like organizing information and corresponding with other members of a community?
The Development Team is looking for a volunteer correspondent for the Rifleman Profession. Participation is completely voluntary and you can stop helping out at any time. We’re just looking for someone who can help us sort through the various issues for this profession.
Some things that you need to consider when applying:
- Developing online games takes a long time. Results happen with long time involvement.
- Player Correspondents should be leaders in their community and set a positive tone.
- Player Correspondents should understand the technical aspects of playing the profession and the needs of their community.
- Player Correspondents should be in touch with the communities concerns, understanding the essence of why players pursue their chosen profession.
- Please include your forum name in the letter
If this is something you are interested in, please write a short paragraph on why you think you would be a good candidate and email it to [email protected]. Please put Rifleman Correspondent in the Subject Line. By submitting this email to us, you agree to allow us to contact you in connection with Star Wars Galaxies and agree that all correspondence with and material submitted to SOE will be the exclusive property of SOE and SOE may use such materials without limitation and in its sole discretion.
After we have reviewed the submissions, we will pick one person to be our correspondent. We will set them up with a special community title here on the forums and ask them to help highlight for us the relevant issues relating to this profession.
We will still continue to monitor the forums and read as many threads as we can. The correspondent is just to help us focus on the top issues and community concerns of the profession.
Thank you.
*Note: please make your letter the main body of the text. E-mail attached items are automatically deleted as part of our spam filter.

6 month terms / need for a continuity during the coming testing phase of the CU and the next expansion.
the current correspondents can run again but the position must be opened up for all to run for.

6 month terms, eh? Didn't know that.
It was a new rule added about 5 months ago...it's in place to help with Correspondent burn-out that happens typically around 6 months...it gives current Correspondents a chance to take a step back if they need a break or recommit by reapplying...
All current Correspondents started their "6 month" term the date that it was announced (even if they had been there already longer then 6 months)...6 months from the announcement will hit around May I believe (so between now and then you'll likely be seeing a lot of older correspondents especially stepping down...except those that plan on reapplying....
Wait....so if a correspondent wants to reapply, is the position posted again?
