Thread: Spice Advice?

Am a new rifleman and have read how Muon Gold can help mange the mind costs associated with our specials. I have no experience using spice and was wondering if I have to keep popping it before the effects wear off or can I just use another Muon once I start dry heaving to make everything happy again.

Thanks.

You have to wait till the total effect wears off. Your mind bar will return to normal and it will give you a message.

As you progress up the tree you will want to buy these by the crates. You can spam the h3ll out of StrafeShot!!

I actually am addicted to these things now. Last night it was my 2 friends, a graul pet, and me, taking out a couple of randomly spawned nightsisters on Dath. We took out 3 nightsisters in a row while I took out each of their mind pools. Constant mind shots. yay. Go muon gold.

I use Muon Gold a lot as well but you have to be careful. You have to keep a little timer going in your head and get out of combat situations before the downer kicks in or you are toast (and right now if you aren't careful it will incapp you when it hits)

Its useful against mind dot attacks too, it won't prevent you from dying from poison but it will keep you on your feet long enough to shoot back

I've used breath of heaven too but the effect isn't as dramatic or as long and I have a better source of Muon Gold right now that I do chef items.

Now.. get yourself mind buffed by a Master Musician and add breath of heaven on top of that and you are set You'll think you are invincible..until the melee opponent starts hitting your health pool for 500 points a hit while all you see is "missed" in your combat window.

I use Fishak surprise and Vercupti Boleruee made by Chefs. Very nice think, long duration, decent buff.

*stands up* My name is OilFan and I'm also a Muon Gold addict. *everyone says hi oilfan* I first started taking it just as a lark to see what it would do and was just flying high as can be. I thought I was invincable!!! I could take on opponents that were way tougher than me. Then the downer hit and I was puking my guts out. It was a sad time. Next thing you knew I was taking it before just about every fight I was getting in, which is a lot. Sometimes, I'd even take a hit during combat just to get that feeling back. I had to start buying the stuff by the crate!!! It was starting to cost me lots of money!! I had to take on harder missions just so I could afford the stuff but then I'd have to use more so I'd stay alive!!! What's a rifleman to do??? *sits back down and cries*

Seriously though...this is some of the best stuff around. As long as you're not in combat during the downer. The worst is if you have enough hits on your mind pool, have the downer hit, you collapse and the next thing you know, you're getting DB.

depends on whether you're also a CH.

If you are, go for theMS2 and flurry2 (flushing2 is basically the same). These are the 2 powerful attacks that a non-master has but they're not any good if you can't do crowd control with a pet IMO. After that, accuracy and speed boosting skills are best.

If you're not a CH, the concealment line may be useful so you don't get meleed, but it's general use is more limited IMO since it tends to only work on non-social mobs.

check around and look for "T21" threads...

anyways. there's a rifle for almost every purpose - except Spraystick and Tusken being bugged (spray is supposed to be acid, it's energy. tusken is supposed to be kinetic, it's energy).

get yourself a DLT20a as well, cheap on mind, good reliable dmg, only use it against un-armored mobs.

laser has fairly unreliable damage, due to it's low minimum. a good t21 looks like, 7.2 speed, 71 mind, 130-357 dmg, and bonuses at 50-64m. and it's Heavy AP (AP3) as opposed to a laser which is medium ap (AP2). check VolstedGridband's (sp?) threads on the differences and calculations.

when leveling rifleman, i highly suggest you keep a scout blaster or something on hand for warning shot. also, put Speed/Mind powerups on all your rifles. get countersnipe3 (Flushingshot2, area of effect shot, 4x damage multiplier) AFTER you get sniper1 (mindshot2 will help you level to countersnipe3). after you get flushing2, you'll be hooked on rifleman! and your Xp will come in by the truckload.

i rarely use a laser (read: never) due to the fact that my T21 does more reliable dmg. although the laser's mind costs are slightly less.

also, look for speed slices on most rifles, before master.

there's a bazillion threads on why we love rifleman, what works well, what doesn't, what to hunt, quickest leveling strategies..etc. have a look around, you'll find it all

i don't think you'll be disappointed with rifleman, IF you master it. if you're dabbling and can't master it - don't bother with it at all. at master you fire a t21 at speed cap, with specials slightly less than 1 shot per second. if you master marksman as well, you'll fire specials almost right at the speed cap (1 shot per second)

if leviasqualls are still around on Rori - go try them. bleed each one (they move veeery slowly) and kite them. just make sure you hit them with any other shot other than bleed (autofire is fine, probably stick to headshots). kite them away from lair at least 160m, when they all die, head back to lair and repeat. it's extremely boring, but good xp and probably the quickest way to level without a tank pet . if you have a good tank, (gsp or better) maybe try Huurton Huntress lairs on dantooine.

hope that helps, good luck, stick with it! Dlt20a for unarmored, spraystick for close encounters, (or blaster), Jawa for stun dmg, laser for max dmg (but unreliable), T21 for dropping anything in the galaxy other than very energy resistant creatures. the faucet (sg82) for mobs vulnerable to cold dmg. -except krayts, use t21 on them.

oh, and when you start to PVP(i suggest waiting until master) use Jawa on composite. at master, get all new weapons sliced for dmg, and put Max Dmg/Mind powerups onall of 'emexcept in special cases.

another thing - find a master rifleman on your server and ask if he's got any speed sliced T21's he'd sell for cheap. as a master, i've got about 8 speed sliced T21's on me at any time that i either give away to new rifleman, or sell for 20k or less.(they're 30k brand new).
