Thread: Just incase life wasn't difficult enough, the Devs are here to help us all out.

I'm not sure if everyone here is aware of this yet, but there is a large CH nerf comming down the pipes soon. This change will make it so that you have to be 4-4-4-4 CH to use most useful pets like Graul Maulers. In addition to needing more CH levels, pets will no longer have such good armor or resists. Say good by to CH pet tanks. If you are a non-CH and use pets like Mountian Krevols, Cowardly Gurrecks or just about anything else useful you can forget about that too, because those pets are all over the new CL 10 cap for non-CHs.

I don't know about you, but having CH is the only way I can fight anything that gets me any xp. I usualy group with several PA mates and go to Dathomir. Now we will not be able to do any of those missions, because players simply can not tank. We do not have the armor, ham or resists for it.

One last rant. I just got Flushing Shot 2 a few days ago and I have been loving it. I use my T21 to hit for 1k-3k damage on several targets. I was thinking that rifleman was actualy a great class. A PA mate of mine just got commando (I helped him out w/ the combat xp using my pet) and he picked up a flame thrower. He was firing with his flame thrower faster than I could spam my specials. Without using a single special or spending a single point of ham he hit for over 1k damage with every shot. It will take him only 2 flame thrower levels before he can hit multiple targets for massive damage, nothing like our 3 levels it takes us to be able to kill our selves with specials.

Needless to say I'm feeling kind of useless today. I think I may pick up a holocron and go master Tailor or something, because both classes I love simply can not compete.

This CH nerf was to help thin the masses of dabblers. It is a bout time. Non CH should have no pets IMO. I also think graul maulers CL was too low for the ham, damage and resists it has. I am not sure about lowering the MCH max pet level but the other "fixes" are good

Excellent.

The more people that are forced to play this game without a pet tanking for 'em, the more likely it is that the Devs will wake up and smell the roses and stop making the game impossible to play for those who don't have pets.

I wouldn't give a rat's ass about Critters or Critter Handlers, if it weren't for the fact that solo players without pets are incapable of fighting 99.99% of the critters on the "adventure" worlds, and are excluded from a non-trivial amount of critters on the 5 starter worlds.

More people bitching about BAF critters will hopefully and eventually translate into few BAF critters (though I'm not holding my breath).

AcctuallyI would say this is helping us a alot, at least for those that do any kind of PvP. As a rifleman the huge number of high level pets is a problem if you PvP. Everyone got a cowardly gurreck or something even bigger. A cowardly gurreck will charge you in notime giving you at the most 2-3 shots before you're in melee and the big mobs won't go down in less than 5-10 shots meaning you don't have a chance to kill 'em before they are on top of you. With Lvl 10 mobs I can not only kill them in one shot, but also take a few hits without dying.

You forgot to mention one important thing: they are enhancing AI to aggro the ones that do more damage, etc. They way that I see it is that neither creature nor brawler will be able to hold aggro once I start using AoEs. Add to that 2.5x melee (which I was fine with until this proposed change) and the speed cap.

Well that does suck. I can see why they would want to stop pets holding the agro, but stopping players is another matter.

I think the game would be a lot better if every decent creature on Dath and other adventure planets couldnt kill everyone in 1 hit. This FORCES everyone to have a pet and I dont blame them. Im going Rifleman/Doctor for some PvP but untill then im keepin CH because it helps you grind so much. I just send in my pet and pick off everything that attacks it. The game would be incredibly dumb is whoever does the most damage got agroed. Here is a likely senario:


Commando hits defiler, commando dies because hes in close range to use flame single, defiler then notices a TKA is kicking the **edit** out of him so there goes the TKA, now all thats left is the pet and me (rifleman). Monster notices I outdamage my pet and teleports on me. Before I can stand I'm dead. That was fun....wait....no it wasn't....it was actually incredibly dumb.


To end my rant: this game would be a lot better if non-pet tanks were possible and all high end creatures didn't kill players in 1-2 hits!

you took a poll to get that # or what? yeah anyway, speak for yourself. i solo on dathomir without a pet and i freaking suck at this game. it's not that hard. if mobs didn't BAF i would know no fear. sound's like someone's pissed they can't farm bantha anymore.
