PVP DB's...ya we get to use sniper shot to DB from a distance but did u know if u were to unequip yoru rifle and do a regular DB u would get a lot more faction thena a snipershot or if u had yoru rifle equpied and did a regular DB...this is totaly lame

To me, this is not really an issue. Cos, if I really want to farm fp, I rather do faction destory msn which give much more fp than the PC Rebel.

I've never seen that. If that is true it is really annoying. Why should I be penalized for using my skills?

Are you 100% sure, Burbaq? Keep in mind that you get more faction points for DBing a player of higher rank. You may have just DBed a seargent with snipershot, then DBed a 2nd Lt. at close range.

i'm told that any class works the same way (sort of). if you DB while holding a gun, you get less points than if you DB unarmed. I would assume that Snipershot gives you the same points it would give anybody who DB'd while armed.

now> as it was mentioned - you should not be PVP'ing with the goal of farming XP. go to rebel outpost on Rori for Rebel FP, find some imperial outpost for imperial xp. (dantooine i guess?). Faction destroy mission will net you the most FP.

This is true...

u got lot more FPs if ya holding a weapon that u got NO skill

e.g. i m a master RMdb a player with rifle and received like 1x fpssince received like 2x to 3x fps while i m holding a pike, well its lame@@

Does anyone know the rationale behind that? Is this another melee advantage?

Whether pvping is useful for farming FP isn't the point. I shouldn't be penalized for using my weapon to db nor should I have to unequip it to get the same FP as the guy who isn't using a weapon.

It's because the FP you are awarded is based partly (I'm not sure if rank plays a part) on your skill with the weapon you have equiped Vs their skill with the weapon they have equiped. You can see this when you take a mission, holdinga weapon you have no skill in gives you low end missions, now try it with your rifle out and you should see a big rise in the level of missions.

If I'm soloing I often remove my rifle before I DB.

I understand that, but I think it is out of place in FP calcuations.

So do I.

The whole GCW is a mess quite frankly. You can kill a <1000 HAM npc with pistol 4 and get 15 FP or go and kill a 6000 HAM npc with master rifle and get 10FP. Bases can have bugged turrets that never die or have crafting stations placed so they can never be destroyed. The list goes on and on, they simply need to fix a lot of things in the GCW, this being one of then.

ya i'm not using this to farm, i was just in a group raiding bestine and had CM and BH kep messing with my mind and they'd DB me for 36 faction and such and i was complaining to one of my imp friends later and he told me about this...haha so he was raiding AH about 30 mins later so I tried it on him and I got 25 points for an unarmed DB and 15 points for a regular DB with my rifle equiped...

pretty sure it's based on your rank and the point that i'm unskilled while melee pretty much the same way as when u pick up missions from a terminal u can go melee and get super easy ones or equip my T21 and get some stormie missions

In PVP dbing is all about taking the person out of hte battle not getting faction points...

Its level based on your weapon. The higher your weapon skill such as rifleman you get less faction points for sniper shotting someone that is lower or equivalent level to you. Since a person sucks at unarmed combat, then you unequip your weapon you get more faction points since you suck at unarmed, this has always been. Also if you take off your weapon before you get incap and db you lose less faction points as compared to having a weapon equip on you.
