I think it would be cool if at sniping 4 you can hide from people on the other side of the GCW. or if you didn't show up on their radar so they have to look for you.

just a though, I think this would make our class better for PVP.

its sorely needed, it makes no sense to have a sniper type profession, but no sniper type abilities except the use of a rifle...an assault type rifle at that.

it was suggested many moons ago.. integrated in with the features of ghillie suits riflemen could build after completing the concealment line. The general opinion however was:

1)too unbalancing

2)3rd party hacks would be created to negate the advantage

3)dabblers would just end up doing only the conceal line to gain allhuge advantages.. invis BH anyone?

4)all the 12yr old l33t kiddies would migrate from commando and BH, thus ruining our profession, and our board.

Well here is one proposed compromise, everytime you shoot someone while "invisable" they have a chance to decern your location. Players and NPCs would have the best chance and then agresive creatures and finally non-agressive ones. Now for eliminating dabblers....You would most likely add this to the concelment branch so make the chance your detected less for each one you get but make another, bigger, reduction of the chance you would be found either at master or at the last box for one or all of the other trees. This would make it hard for a BH to get decent concelment. Just an idea.

Hears an Idea, at sniping 4 or cover 4 give us a special like maskscent only it masks us from radar.

Shandale that is exactly what i was thinking of.

or maybe if the ranger camo kits could hide you from other players, that way you would spend most of your sp on that and rifleman so that would get rid of dabbling. but this has alsomost likly been suggested but i didn't see it, so i posted it now.

Like mentioned above, dont make us invisible or everyone will be a rifleman or atleast dablle in it.

Instead give us defensive bonuses and some camo kits. A Sniper is nothing without stealth and a good rifle (my server doesn't have t21:smileysad. We currently have no stealth, a ranger has camo kits and I think we should too our atleast be able to buy from themand have some mods that give + to camouflage(we have none of this).

How many sniper have you seen without some form of camoufloge?

I never ment make us invisable, i ment to say make us not show up on the radar or something like that, or give people very bad acc. until they had a lock on us for a while.

but seriosly what part in history would snipers play if they stand out and can be seen by everyone.

I don't think we need to be inivisible on radar. That to me is a little unbalanced. But what I would like to see is a defensive bonus while concealed that was big enough to make a difference. A message to your opponent that says "you were unable to clearly make out your target" if they fail to hit you when you are concealed. Something to make using conceal worthwhile.

In a group pvp situation I should be able to stake out a good position. Hit conceal and start taking out targets with them having little chance of hitting me until they get close to me. THAT would be a defensive bounus worth having and it isn't unbalanced becasue it would only work at long ranges and you would be at severe risk of being taken from behind if they decide to flank you. But it gives the rifleman a real sniping job in a battle instead of us being in the middle of the street being ganked by eveyone with a flame thrower or a scatter pistol.

You can read up on the ideas me and several others came up with (which were a fairly well balanced IMHO).. and the argument war that followed..

" 3)dabblers would just end up doing only the conceal line to gain all huge advantages.. invis BH anyone? "

Put it on the "Master-Rifleman" bar, so you only could get it if you finished the complete rifleman-tree. Then you would have no dabblers, as it would be a too big spend of Skill-Points.

Althoug, i think the idea with Def-Bonus (and the message "you have trouble seeing your target" at misses) is even better, as it' only could work on ranges like 50m and more.

In both cases (invisible on radar / Def-Bonus), this should only be able if you hold a rifle in hands (like the 2.5x melee-def), so only rifleman could use this and no dabbling pistoleers or BHs.
