Personally i think things are focused to much on jedi. That makes everyone wanna become one. The problem is when u have played the game a while, force is the only thing that will make your character better. Only thing to go for.
Possible Solution:
Make High Master and Grand Master Boxes above Master in the normal professions. Let the cost be high (High Master 10 million xp and Grand Master 100 million or higher). And put in some quests to get them. That way we normal folks have something to go for.
Not to be to superior to the normal masters, let the bonuses from these boxes be special. Maybe have 4 boxes and can only choose 1. Or something like that. And the power be for example TKA:
High Master
Box 1: Better Burst run (like jedi or something like that)
Box 2: Meditate that heals BF
Box 3: Poison/disease resistance
Box 4: Very good state resistance
Grand Master might be an improvement from high master. Fex: if u chose Box 2 (meditate) on high master, you have to choose box 2 (meditate) on grand master. Or it could be new boxes.
This will:
make people play the game longer
(More income for soe)
reduce the number of jedi
(since others have something to work for)
make more different characters
(since you can only have 1 high master and one grand master box from each profession)
What do you think about this? Might be hard to put in the game. But might fix alot also, and keep alot of players that are quitting.

no doubt about it beeing a good idea, what is somewhat sad about swg and other mmorpg's is that in swg a guy who have played this game for 4 days can be as powerfull as someone who have been playing for 10 months.

this is a great idea, if the devs were to put somthing like this in the game it would make the game a lot more fun.

i dont like the idea, but thats me, I am more of a RPer and i dont like to have to be competing/grinding/clawing myself to the top on a constant bases. I dont want this game to be turned into everquest where it all depends on how long/hard u grind. I would rather it comes down to better strategies and equipment.

yup... the guy that have played 10 months prolly have better tacts, equipment and so on, but skills are the same.
That has to change. Someone that have played 10 months should feel special in some way without going jedi

well the idea on this system is that you dont have to. Someone with High Master or Grand Master wont be overpowered. Just a little better on one thing. So someone that wants to grind dont have to grind jedi. And someone that fights alot, might be able to choose these boxes.

yeah but knowing the way the SWG community works it would just become part of the grind, i didnt even PvP till my template was done, just grinded non stop till it was done, from then on i just practiced, grinding is the price u pay to enjoy the te,plate afterwards, I dont think u need this idea to have room for improvement, work on my PvP rating and now im gunna work on getting some better gear after i got a 1700 pvp rating.
Too much grinding eventually takes the fun out of the ga,e, just sit back and hang out and enjoy the game. I tell everyone the same thine, once u finish ur grind its time to relax and enjoy the game. Thats the thing i like the most of this game, it isnt about how long/hard u grind.

well the problem for me... and many of my friends is that i have played the game since beta. I have pvp'ed until im tired of that (im about 1750 +/- rating). I have looted all that can be looted (sold much of it and has about 50 mill cr and best equipment) and only thing left is jedi grind. Since ALOT of ppl grind jedi, they might just as well have something other things to grind.. so we dont get 2000 jedi on each server. With this system you dont have to grind that last bit... But it something you can. Games stop beeing fun when you have nothing left to do

Yes, because I would like to grind out that much exp for swordsman when I could do it for jedi and be a lot more powerful. This would never happen anyway. The game box didn't say you could be a swordsman, it said jedi.

Yup. And the bozo who grinds 24 hours a day to complete a template in 4 days is also a person who doesn't know how to just enjoy playing the game, and so they get bored quickly and turn into another one of those dumb people who post how there's nothing to do in this game and quit.
This game is geared towards casual players. You know, the vast majority of the gaming market? The people who won't play for 16 hours a day grinding away to level up. The non-powergamers. That's the strength of the game.
