Hi everyone,
First let me say thanks to answering my queries regards stat migration. I got my wookiee character maxxed out on mind, which was about 1100/800/650 (if memory serves correctly...which it doesnt always).
Also, to Ackehece (hope I spelled that right) for the links. I think I've read almost all the links and associated threads now top to bottom. Alot of people have put a great deal of work in. Kudos to you all.
Now, my next question: How do we, as riflepeople, make big credits?
So far I have novice rifleman 4/3/4/3, so I'm nearly at Master. Yay!
Up until the other day when I got my stats migrated, I was solely doing quenker missions on Dantooine because they gave great credits and xp for their difficulty level. I was doing them without any doctor buffs and with only minimal armor. The armor is wookiee ceremonial with about 10% across the board, so pretty useless. I only used master dancer/master musician buffs to bring up my mind, with the occasional brandy.I used a BE created pet tank to distract the quenkers while I shot them at distance. I could make about 20-25k credits per hour. Great fun.
However, I need more credits, things are expensive (I'm on Bria server). So I thought as I have more mind now (and consequently less health and action) I would try a different strategy. I got a doctor buff (as well as Entertainer buff) dropped a brandy, put on my Hunting armor (80%KR 65%everything else) and headed out to slay huurton matrons. I didnt use my normal tactic of getting my pet to tank, I just ran straight up to the lair and started spamming pointblank area. I managed to hold the fort, but they still did quite alot of damage considering I was buffed and armored. And, whats more, the reason I was trying this - to get more credits - totally failed. In 3 hours I made 60k credits. Less than when I was doing quenkers...
I have heard people say that Jantas, Mokks, Enraged Rancors pay very well. But, I fear I would be killed very quickly using the above tactic. Do these missions pay well? How should I attempt them? Are there any other ways of getting alot of credits as rifleman?
Thanks,
Ato

it's really quite simple, you need to up the difficulty on your missions.. especially using a good BE pet that should be pretty easy, even though you, as a wookie, cant use composite armor..
janta/mokk missions on dantooine yield 27-29k credits, they dont spawn any more than they have out in the beginning (unlike critter missions) so you shouldn't have much trouble clearing out the mokk/janta camp and finish off the camp itself in 10-15 minutes.
personally, as a human, with buffs, armor, brandy, canape, speed ranged powerups and sliced T-21, I hunt enraged rancor nests on dathomir, 39kcr per mission, one mission takes about 10 minutes to clear but requires that you can stand there and take the hits they deal out.

Any of the popular high level missions are fine, so just pick your favorite
When you can, attack only one target at a time. You are well defended with your armor and buffs, but it's best not to have 5 Jantas or whatever on you at once if you can help it. Also, go prone at 60-64 meters for your first 2-3 shots. That'll keep things from aggroing immediately. When they move in, switch to kneeling(not standing unless you foresee posture down attacks in your future). Your accuracy is as good as it's going to be until MR, so you shouldn't have too hard a time of getting HS3to hit- even at point blank range(where 95%+ mobs eventually end up), so forget about /pointblankarea.
And since you'll be attacking only one pool as opposed to three, you should be moving much faster

Conceal Shot is your friend with janta/mokk missions if you can't take the hits. Though, a speed capped riffleman doesn't even need armor

Thanks for the hints so far people.
Today when I used buffs and hunting armor for the first time I took on a mokk to see what it would be like. Here is what happened: I was doing a huurton matron mission, and finished it up. Healed my pet up, and happened to notice a spawn of mokks not too far away. One mokk shaman had strayed from the camp, so I thought it might be fun to try and see how hard mokks were with all my new 'power'. So I sent my BE pet to attack, waited till he was engaged with the mokk, and fired Mindshot2 then headshot3 after headshot3. Now, my BE pet has 8.5k Health, 5.5k action, 2.5k mind. Pretty good tank, I thought...but, this ONE mokk almost incapped my pet before his (the mokk shaman) mind was barely half down through my attacks. I had to run in heal up my pet and try to take out the mokk myself. Before I could finish this lone mokk off though, he disappeared, literally!?
I havent been using speed pups, but will give them a shot.
Also, should I use FlushingShot2 (this is what I've been using alot doing quenkers, tkaes them out faster)? Or is it better as you've suggested below to stick to one target at a time using mindshots and headshots?
I guess I'm slightly concerned that I'll get hammered doing mokks and the like, if only one mokk could do all that (or my BE pet. I know he's just a tank, but he was a rather expensive tank)...Of course, if I can do one mission every 15 minutes, that means about 100k per hour. That's sweet!
Thanks again,
Ato

Atobusarragra,
You're a wookie, so I know composite armor is out of the question, but you're going to need to get better armor before you can really make good money. Get something that has at least a 70% resist to kinetic damage, as that it what Mokks dish out. Personally, I waited until Master Rifleman before I tried "making money", and I think you should too. You'll have insane accuracy, meaning that your Head and Mind Shots will land at a much higher rate. Plus at Masterlevelyou''ll have access to Strafe2, which is the single most damaging attack Riflemen have. At present, Strafe2 is having some "issues"; It seems as though it won't always hit all targets in the cone. However, I still use it, and it seems as though it will lay down a cone-effect of damage, just not in a reliable fashion.
To digress; get Master Rifleman first. IMO, that is the way to go. Master Rifleman + Doc buffs + 70% min kinetic armor + some Brandy, Canape, and Ahrisa = A lot of dead Mokks/Jantas in a very short amount of time. UseStrafe2 if you want, or definitely use Mind/Head Shot to single your targets out...either tactic will work. I can drop a lair in about...5 minutes once I get there...sometimes less. Keep in mind, that a set of missions will take you at least 15 minutes if not longer depending on travel time. I easily manage 500k in a set of buffs though..so...just my take on the subject at hand. Good luck.

i am a wookiee rifleman and leveled rifleman before we had armor. i used a pet and a droid and either did npc missions or would harvest meat/hide. if you get scout you can make money from selling meat and hide also wookiee armior need hide so what i did was make a deal with an armorsmith. i give her hide in exchange for reduced cost on armor. npc missions may not pay the most but you can find ones that you can do with just conceal shot reducing the need for armor and possibly with out doctor buffs just watch your mind and you can always jump on bike if things go badly

Wookiee here also...
I usually run missions out of our city on Lok. I pick perlek missions (asa 1/1/2/1 rifleman). I also do most of these unbuffed and unarmored (im a master medic/Doc.. minus the crafting) and it doesnt take me too long to get thru a mission. 3k credits isnt much, but when im trying to get easy xp.. it pays off. I also do imp missions sometimes (because i can do the dizzy/posture change) or i get them to a prone position and do /pointblank on a single target. This usually works pretty well, because they cannot attack me from so close, and if they get up they almost always fall down. I still like using all my rifles in every mission (my dxr's, and t-21's) and its much easier to kill npcs faster with my 7.0 attack speed 596 dmg max t-21.
...just a few pieces of random information..

use conceal shot from 50m out on moks, or, shot flushing2 at the stone statue and run around in cirlces so the moks can't get to you!!!
you won't get much xp, but you will get loads of money

Don't bother until you're a Master and then run around with a T21 doing 30k missions on Dantooine. Drive up 50m from the target, dismount, SS2, get back on, drive off to the next one.

Yeah once you hit master you go crazy awesome, Mokk missions normally took like 20 min to do ended up taking like 5 min with master.
5 minutes? really... I do them in under 1 minute... just throw away a few SS2 and the janta's drop like airplanes in a meteorshower.
That takes about 10 secs... the only thing delaying is the damn lair...

Thanks for the help everyone. It would seem that there is a huge difference between master and non-master. Cant wait till I get there.
This afternoon I had about 30minutes to kill, so I got on, got an Entertainer mind buff, joined a solo group and took a Janta outpost mission to see what it was like. I used aim +concealshot and hit everytime. The Jantas just stood there and took it lol. Although it took about 20 minutes and I had to use about 6 stims (2 per Janta to heal my HA when it got depleted from using my T21). But, I guess buffed and armored, with master and SS2...bring them on!
Thanks,
Ato
