Thread: Is rifleman good at soloing?

The reason I ask is since the range for rifles are med to long. But when you solo, mob will run up to you and your accuracy become horrible. Will you miss a lot at zero range even you are a master?

When you're a master, nothing will even get to melee range. On the odd chance that it does, you can still finish an already wounded mob with a couple of hits. AIM will help here. Alternatively, you can pick up a melee profession wiht complimentary attack such as swordsman or TKA.

What if when you do mokk mission, youshoot one mokk and three others mokks run up to you at the same time, is it still possible to finish them with rifle alone when they are beating you hard?

At higher levels, your rifle concealment mod should be high enough that, if you are far enough away, you wont draw aggro from other mobs. You can also use concealshot to prevent drawing aggro form the mob you are actually attacking. At master, you can StrafeShot2 at groups of mobs and they will all be dead before they get to you.

If you really want to be a good solo Rifleman, I suggest picking up acomplimentary melee profession - like 2H Sword or TKA.

Master Marksman - Master Rifleman, Full buffs, Full set of kinetic composite armor


I can walk up to a enraged rancor lair on dathomir and start spamming /pointBlankArea1 and kill every rancor in the nest and the nest itself in2-3 minutes


also, I can do it more stylishly, lie down 50m from the nest with /maskscent and /cover on and /concealshot /strafeshot2 everything before anyone gets close to me..


so yes, a master rifleman is pretty good at soloing

The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

As a Master Rifleman I can do Janta/Mokk missions solo with no problems, just using a T-21 and Head Shot 3, it hit for about 3-4K per second, any variations but shamans die while running towards me, and sometimes I have to skip a head shot so they die in a lootable distance so I dont have to move, they never agro in groups, Shamans usually only get a hit or two in and then Dead.

woot, thank for the advice. I will go for master rifleman anyway. And right now, I am thinking of supporting melee profession. TKA and swordmanare suggested. I checked the melee profession mod, and found polearm get "block" too. Will this block stack with rifleman's block? if yes, will block cap (and waste skill point) if we master both professions?


Gotta like the rifleman forum for all positive opinions.

Cleome, I like fencer, if there's something Rifleman doesnt have is defences, In PvP I'm able to killoponents by stacking Mind Shot 1/Mind Shot 2, and Head Shot 3 until my HAM is at 1/3 then switch to Stun Batton or Graffi and doing Scatter Hit to destroy their PSG and use CoB and Intimidate until my HAM is back up, the switch back to My T-21 or Jawa and reaply Bleeds and keep hitting their minds.


About stacking, Rifleman and Polearm do stack Block, as Pistoleer/fencer (Dodge)and Carabineer/Swordman (Counter Attack), but unlike Dodge and CounterAttack, that cut the damage to 0, Block only diminishes by 50%, also Block cap If I'm not mistaken is 125.

Im master rifleman, speedcapped, and I can say for sure that we can solo =). The ONLY thing that I have ever run from was a pack of 6 of those Kwi looking things, but they had 60K life and hit for around a grand each time.. not fun lol

Other than that, melee range accuracy is almost 100% if your not moving, and even then, masters dont miss much =).
Just keep at straif2 and everything will fall eventually, not that anything should reach you. Unless an enemy teleports or runs towards me at a strange angle, they all get straif2'd atleast 6 times befor theyd be close enough to strike me, and that means theyr long, long dead =)

By choice I do not wear any armor, but I can still solo critters with the best of them. Everything else posted here is great information. You just need to find out what works for you and your playing style.

Rifleman is a pretty good class if you can afford some of the stuff. When I go Rancor huntin for supplies I ready my Ahrisa (if I have some ), Brandy, and Canape. Use my Disruptor plus headshot 3 I can down a mutant/enraged rancor before he even touches me. We are also the best class imho for soloing stuff with ranged attack. Course if you couple us with pistoleer dodge we are almost godly.
