Thread: So now that Increased Decay is Live, please explain it to me...

Okay, Aldeon has confirmed that power-ups now decay your weapon at an unpleasant rate.


But does anyone know the FACTS on the incap/death/insure changes that are on Test Center?


1. Does every weapon in yourentireinventorydecay 3% per incap?


2. I heard a 17% decay for death, is this really true? and for EVERY weapon again?


3. How does Insurance fit into this equation? Does it help prevent decay?


4. Will brushing regularly prevent decay?


Okay... the first three questions are legit... I'd like some answers, please?

Currently its set like this -


Every incap your items decay 3 percent. All Items in your inventory.


Apon DB all items decay 20 percent.


Insurance will only stop the DB decay, not incap.

I don't mean to be picky, I just want to be totally clear on this...


5. Do non-weapon items decay also?


6. By DB, do you mean ANY death? Such as from PvE MOBs too?

Wayne:

Every item that has a durability rating will decay. Weapons, armor, crafting tools, clothes, survey tools (I think they have durability ratings), and so on.

Things that do not have a durability rating are safe. So stuff like stacks of resources, food, drinks, spice, and so on shouldn't be affected.

It is for EVERY death and EVERY incap, PvP or PvE.

It is not yet live.

As far as the DB decay goes, I want to throw into this thread that Insuring the items is supposed to prevent this decay.



I still want to know if SOE has acknowledged the fact that people can (in PvP) incap player over and over and over again, griefing now not only because they can't get up or the massive wounds they will likely sustain, but because doing so destroys the players equipment. Marine armor is about 45k durability. The cost of being incapped one time? 1350 durability.



Again, I don't like the % part of this penalty.

The only people that will be leftafter this kicks in will be, naked TK experts and I for one have already seen WAY, WAY too many people out hunting in their boxer shorts !!!

I still can believe that SOE has the audacity to even propose this when they have done absolutly nothing to fix game crippling and now item crippling bugs like warping mobs. I for one would rather do corpse runs
