Because I needed a ranged combat profession to go with TKM. I've been BH so done carbines/pistols, I thought I'd give rifles a try.

Well, when I was a nooblet back in July, I started off thinking I'd want to be a BH, pretty much like everyone else. I got pistols1 and carbines 1 and rifles 1 and bought myself a new rifle (DLT20b? whatever it's called). It was way better than my crappy cdef, it had something in the 100's for max damage, possibly even 200!

I tested it out and one-shotted my first durni. At that point, there was no turning back. I have never used a pistol or carbine since. I was amazed when I bought my first laser rifle. Actually, I almost didn't buy it because I thought the low-end was too low, thank god I bought it anyway! haha. I was king of the world one-shotting those pesky durnis and gubbers. And that is the story of how Skel became a rifleman.

Starting from launch, worked mostly with carbines. Got up into carbineer but was disappointed. Between the specials that didn't work and the rest being AOE, I just could survive well enough.

Quit the game for about 4 months. When I came back, played a little more carbineer and was still disappointed. Switched to rifle(fits my style of play better) and haven't looked back.

I startedwith rifles because I like playing a rifleman (always played the sniper role in clan games of TFC and such). I gave it up a couple of months in after I was sick of the 2.5x damage multiplier and warping mobs. Just recently took it back up after deciding I still wanted badly to be a rifleman.

I was a master pistoleer/ master ch since launch. I have some great pistols but got sick of never getting xp and just making cash. So i decided to try out some of the other ranged proffesions- and I love riflman. I like being able to have some different tactics availible and doing much more hefty damage. I wish I could get the variety of damage types like pistoleer tho. lol

i went riflemen because at the time everyone on my server was a pistoleer for spammable KD's (disarm2 and pistolwhip) and 1 shot kills (stopping shot). Carbineer specials were all broken, so i chose rifles as the "other" elite prof.

Headshot 2 with a good laser rifle was a 1 shot Kill, and even on a low roll, you were going to get the guy on your second shot, so we could compete as long as we weren't KD'd.

I dropped it for a while to go BH, but that got old (investigation was really messed up), so I went back to rifles. Been there ever since.

Personally I decided to go it because I wanted to be the cool sniper heh. Picking off people from long ranges, but really with things the way they are now it isn't what i was hoping for. Although sometimes I get to play that role and theres no fun like it heh. I remember one time some rebels were raiding a giant imperial get together in theed. We ran into the naboo palace with the imps on our tails. We'll the melee people set up infront of the main door by the stairs and the rifleman got into their positions on the upper floor and just nailed em heh. That was probably the most fun i've ever had lol.. That whole conflict was probably only 1/5 of the PvP festivities that night. Eventually we were cornered at the top of the palace but it was fun none the less.

Was a master pistoleer at the time....I'm glad I made the switch

becouse 1 guy tilde me it is good combat prof and i tried all at the same time. I wanted to get good ranged and melee prof . when i saw T21 with 395 max dam and laiser rifle with 400 i but it befor i can use it and o maaan . i tryed pikeman for melee it was hard but realy cool and i was up CH tree .when i got my 1 st mouler i dumped pikeman. NOW M rifleman and M CH i CAN KILL any mission from terminal that combo with medic ROCKs I can solo any rancor lairs,kimogilla lairs,dantooin is like vacation .I can make 100k with 4 missions and NO BUFFS, I LOVE IT

I wanted to be BH and thought you needed Rifles 4 due to the layout of the skill sheet (nooby wasnt it lol) so I got rifles 4 and said wow I love using these then here i am
