just forget about the time line it nolonger exits her hasn't for some time. we're in a virtual star wars universe and it our time line not the movies. so its what we make of this universe ourselves. once this is realized then you'll start having fun

Hey guys, I'm thinking about switching to rifleman as well. I'm not very good with making templates but I've been playing a master smuggler, master pistoleer, and BH pistols for a while now, and would like a change. I was thinking about doing master rifleman, master TKA, and then, with the left over points, get novice combat medic. To me that seems like a pretty solid template, but then again, I don’t really have a knack with these sort of things. I looked through the rifleman templates thread as well as the TKA templates, but never saw this combination come up.

Is there anything wrong with this template? Is it missing something? I would appreciate your expertise heavily.

its generally very bad to mix melee and ranged post cu.

I would recomend doc for melee templates and MCM for ranged.

Pistoleer is fairly effective to combine with Rifleman, but from my personal experiences, Master Rifleman + Master Carbineer is a nice blend of damage and useful specials.

4/0/0/0 CM, or Doc is *required* if you want to PvE or PvP with any relative success whatsoever. Cpl is right in telling you CM 4/0/0/0 is generally the better choice for a ranged combantant.

beyond that master BH and master carbine are nice, or you can mix in some pistol with either of the two, i don't recommend master pistol if you mainly PvE, but it's decent as support in a PvP role.

Having Healing professions is NOT a requirement to succeed in PVE AND PVP.

But it really depends on your playstyle and preferences.

Me, personally, I prefer specialization and excelling in something instead of watering my abilities down to be a Jack of All Trades.

I like MRifles, MPistols, and Carb 0440. I don't PvP much and am always in a group with a good tank, so I can really pump out the damage without worrying about getting much aggro.

I have root, 2 snares (Rifleman snare sucks though), Knockdown, and some other good specials and states mixed in there.

That said, if I was a BH and hunted Jedi 1 on 1 I would probably drop one of them for CM, saw a MCM/MBH take out a full template Jedi the other night by just out healing him, fight took 25 minutes. BH mind never got below 50% the whole time.

i'd always at lest suggest CM 4xxx for the healing, and then BH4xxx for the +250 defence from duelist stance, then its all down to play style - i add BHx4xx tree for the speed and improved critical, and CM x4x4 for the poison, fire and speed de-buffs. gives a nice 'all round' feel, fast ish at hitting, good ish defences, good ish de-buffs/snares, and nice extra damage from the fire & poison that goes though all armor & jedi defences.

doc takes too much, i found mastering BH and Rifles meant i was a little restricted in my combat roll so i swapped it for some more CM stuff. bonus is always being able to wear high energy armor, its only really krayts that i have to fear as most everything else is energy damage dealing anyhow - if you need good kineticassault armor vs pikets you've no chance against anything else. IMO

I am a master rifleman with master cm andi used what skill points i had left to do x2xx in bh because i used to many other skill points in the jedi boxes. i am pretty decent in pve and really suck in pvp. but that is because i havent yet mastered the art of pvp. If i would change anything i would use the bh first tree

to answer your question ....

any profession that requires combat to gain xp

you are asking to general of a question, what other prof do i need to get to CL80, what do you plan on doing once you hit CL80, are you going to be grouping alot, or you more of a soloer, are you going to unlock your jedi and scrap the template

you have to tell us what you would like to do and/or plan to do after getting to CL80, otherwise my answer is the best answer for your question

I like being self sufficent healing wise. True, I can't run in and bag and tag hapless victims that dared enter the opposing end of my sights, but with my style of play (loot hunter = conceal and steal) it rocks!

I am Master Rifleman/Master Carbineer/Master Marksman, Pistols 0003 (or is it 0030?) to get the Root shot, Medic 0040.

Rifleman gives you huge damage shots but limited specials. Carbineer has nice specials and leg shot/head shot can be alternated very easily for huge damage hits. The root shot in Pistoleer is nice to have if you need to stop someone cold. Having Medic was my big choice as compared to more trees in Pistols....but now that I have it I won't ever give it up. I can heal myself with bacta shot for 1,000 pts ( I run +25 healing efficiency mods as well) plus using janta stim D's I hit for 1,400 healing pts. I can do 1,000 + 1,400 + Ruby bliel + 1,400 + 1000 for healing all in about 6 seconds and only 16 drink stomach fill....so I can last as a semi-tank for a long while.

Lots of damage + good specials + good healing = nice combat prof.
