Hey all. New rifleman here. What is a good profession to pair with rifleman to get me Combat Level to 80?
Thanks.
to answer your question ....
any profession that requires combat to gain xp
you are asking to general of a question, what other prof do i need to get to CL80, what do you plan on doing once you hit CL80, are you going to be grouping alot, or you more of a soloer, are you going to unlock your jedi and scrap the template
you have to tell us what you would like to do and/or plan to do after getting to CL80, otherwise my answer is the best answer for your question
Good point. My goal here is to unlock my second character slot and then use that one as my combat character and turn this one back into my crafter, or vice versa. Mostly I want the second character so I can go back and forth from combat to crafting and experience the whole game with both of my characters on the same server. Since I already had this guy started down the rifleman path when I found out how to do that, I thought I would keep him as a rifleman and turn him back into a crafter with some ranged combat once I unlock the second character slot, then make that one a swordsman or something and run it back up to Jedi or just see what I wanted to do with it. Any advice would be appreciated.
good damage with advanced headshot, adv snipershot knee cap for snare . Combatmedic dots such as paralize and those stuff.good range. bad defense 1 in defende and 4 in offense.and root
MASTER RIFLEMAN,MASTER BOUNTY HUNTER AND 4000 COMBATMEDIC.
good damage and defense and healing.adv critical shot , torso shot and duelist stance a very good pvp and pve template and for hunting jedis.
MASTER RIFLEMAN,MASTER DOCTOR.
good damage, good healing but spending a few extra points. i suggest this is not a good template.
MASTERRIFLEMAN,MASTER PISTOL AND 4000 COMBAT MEDIC
good healing with root and good defense andd offens.root and snare.
I was actually thinking of going Master Rifleman, Master Combat Medic and Pistoleer 0/4/0/4 (my other 4 Skill points are tied up in Luck).
Is this a good combo? I don't usually PvP, mostly PvE (as you can see from my current Master Ranger/Master Rifleman template). But lately I've been running into some quests that I can't solo and was looking for some more offense/healing power.

Having Healing professions is NOT a requirement to succeed in PVE AND PVP.
But it really depends on your playstyle and preferences.
Me, personally, I prefer specialization and excelling in something instead of watering my abilities down to be a Jack of All Trades.

i play on two servers, PvP 90% of the time i play, and have never once seen someone without healing skills beat someone with 4000 CM/doc/jedi healer in a duel.
Being self-sufficient in healing is recommended in Duels.
But I almost never duel for PvP; only in the instances of going Spec.Forces for what is left of the dying GCW. In the GCW, you'll be in groups in all likeliness.
I consider myself the damage dealer, the machine gunner (M.Marksman / M.Rifleman / M.Carbineer / Pistoleer 0434) for the group. My attacks are fast, hit hard, highly accurate, and made even more lethal with excellent weaponry. The group will have a real healer, a real MCM or MD. They'll take care of us fighters and the fighters attack the opposition or protect the healers. Simple as that.
Even in duels, I stand a fair chance. I have no grand illusions of grandeur with my template. It has great strengths and some glaring weaknesses (like healing).
But I'm following a mindset that some have followed even in the Pre-CU days: Attack, attack, attack. Keep constant pressure on the enemy. Make them make a mistake. Maintain the initiative. Target a healer? Keep attacking them, put them on a self-healing cycle... drain the mind. Lastly, some of us that follow this mindset take it a step further, even in the Pre-CU days: The moment you start healing, you've lost the fight.
Again, the CU allows a wider amount of templates to compete than ever before. I'm a specialized, pure combat fighter. I don't water down my defenses and offensive skills to gain healing ability. It works, but of course not 100% of the time!
Not counting Jedi, the only ones that give me problems here and there are templates with Master Combat Medic, and if I allow myself to get within 30m of these guys (CM throw range roughly).
